Best MP3 Player Ever

  • Summary: The Sound quality is incredible on this device much better that an iPod and my earlier series Walkman. The noise cancelation feature is also near perfection. The only thing I have found that I would improve is the volume button on the side of the device. There isn't much travel in the button and sometimes it’s hard to tell if you have pressed it. When turning the volume up this isn't much of a problem since there is a bump on the top of the switch.

  • Summary: The Sony Walkman X-series is Sony's premium flash-based portable media player, packing Wi-Fi, noise-cancellation, a redesigned UI and a gorgeous OLED touchscreen. But can it compete with the reigning champ, the iPod Touch? In a word, no. That's not to say it isn't an impressive player in its own right. It handily beats the Samsung P3 and the Cowon S9, but I'm left wondering who would pick this up instead of a Touch.
  • Pros: brilliant video quality great oled screen very portable noise cancelation works with windows media player and itunes
  • Cons: no appps and games

Sony Walkman X 1050, touchscreen Walkman

  • Excerpt: "I purchased this Sony Walkman in January for 190 GBP. It came with headphones, extra earbuds, USB cable, manuals and warranty. I bought this because I like the fact that Sony's multimedia players have great battery life and are robust, hence not easy to break. I was right as the Walkman still works perfectly even after I sat on it several times and dropped it. The sound quality is excelent and included Noise Cancelling function is great to stop any ...

Sony NWZ-X1050 16 GB: Superb Sound

  • Summary: Ok I bought this device a few months ago, as I got it for an absolute bargain , and i really wanted a 'fancy' mp3 player with touch screen and wifi. The first thing I noticed was the rather solid build quality, it's quite rugged, and not as streamlined as some of it's competitors. I'm not sure if I liek the ruggedness or not, its certainly well made as I would expect from a Sony product, but when compared to the Ipod touch, the touch wins the 'sexy' factor for me.
  • Pros: Sound, solid build, oled screen
  • Cons: Small screen, fiddly at times, a bit too tugged perhaps

  • Summary: I did have an iPod touch, but ubelievably irritatingly it broke 2 days after the waranty ran out >:( - but being a true Sony-Fanboy (i have sony ericsson phone and Vaio laptop) - I got the walkman's equivalent to the iTouch. And it is sooo much better (for me anyway), no it doesnt have all the apps and games and stuff but what it does do it does 1 million times better! Also it has fm radio which really bugged me in the iTouch Love it !!
  • Pros: Screen = gorgeous, sound = amazing !! Oh, and it has fm radio, wifi, youtube !!
  • Cons: Err... took a while to figure out how to get music and album covers on it

  • Summary: If you are looking for a PORTABLE AUDIO player (i.e. not a pmp / entertainment device with millions of apps and a nice web browser), at £150 for the 32gb version, this is currently the best offering on the UK market. I don't really get the cnet rating, given that audio quality, build quality and user interface are all awesome. The product category is 'MP3 player and digital music', I use my pc to surf the web.... Audio quality - highs/mids/bass/clariity.
  • Pros: audio quality, build quality, user interface, OLED screen, you tube support, (current) value, drag and drop
  • Cons: web browser, video limitations, lack of on the fly playlists, 32gb max capacity
