Summary: I have purchased three of these. Too bad Sony stopped making this design. One died when I dropped it in the ocean. But the reason I bought this model was for it's storage capacity, small size and the built-in noise cancelling headphones. I travel by bus many days and by using the noise cancelling feature, I do not have to turn up the volume to overcome the background noise.
Summary: I own an Ipod Nano (5th generation) and I keep that docked in my stereo as when it comes to using an MP3 player when running or at my desk, I prefer the Sony Walkman. Hands down!! Just easier to use, better sound (once I got different headphones) and less accidental menu selections. Also, my Walkman (same model shown here) doesn't rely on I-tunes. I LIKE that as I use Rhapsody to buy my songs. You can use Windows Media Player to manage/transfer play-lists.
Summary: We have several of these Sony MP3's in our household. The ease of use is one of the key factors for us. You don't HAVE to register with a website to get downloads, but can. Awesome product; will continue to buy this brand/type.
Summary: Excellent sound, the headphones are really good, the FM tuner perfect. The only thing I considerer Sony must check it, is the silicone ear buds. I lost one of them at the second day. The replacement is not clear, and if you buy Sony replacements you have to buy others sizes that you are not interested, and the price: [...] bucks! for something of one cent cost is too much.
Summary: Free yourself from the Apple madness with this little gaget. For less than $100 I have a unit that is just as flexible as an iPod, shows all of the same video in just as crisp a detail and I am not forever tied to the evils of iTunes. This even comes with noise canceling ear buds that do a solid job of cutting down the backround noise even when they are switched off. You'll never hear the drone of jet engines on your next flight!!!
Summary: This my first mp3 player (except for a $50.00 Samsung player which I returned immediately). It has a nice feel and is sturdy, having dropped if a few times. The sound is excellent after you fiddle with the controls a bit. Size is nice and screen is easily readable. Navigation is also intuitive. FM tuner has very limited range and it depends on the earbud wire as an antenna, so I am constantly moving the wire around to improve reception even in the gym.
Summary: I've been using this player for a month and just love it so far. I've gotten numerous compliments on the player at work and it's always funny when I tell people it's a Walkman since most remember the old cassette tape players and didn't realize there was a mp3 player version. I work in a warehouse handling boxes so I also bought the armband to go with the player and couldn't be any happier thus far.
