Excerpt: The latest Sony Walkman player to hit the streets is the NWZ-S544 PMP. As usual Sony has incorporated a rather funky touch into the device, but looks aren’t everything as we’ve clearly seen with so many other devices over time. So how did this one fare? This is what I think. Form Factor The S544 comes with a 2.4-inch TFT LCD that sports a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. No different than your average mobile handset.
Pros: Lightweight, thin with good body design and grip, Durable, scratch resisting screen, Easy to use, straight forward controls, 3.5mm headphone jack, Fully equipped, well designed built-in stereo speakers capable of stunning music quality, 42 hours of audio playback on a single charge
Cons: Lacks Sony’s noise canceling technology, No on board accelerometer, Due to lack of WiFi connectivity, downloading podcasts directly are also out of the question (though it is possible to achieve this via alternative methods!)
Excerpt: Sony recently announced the launch of their latest MP3 player, the Sony S-Series Walkman, we were lucky enough to get our hands on this new Walkman, and have had a chance to test it out to see how it performs.
Summary: The Sony NWZ-S544 is an 8GB MP3 player/portable media player designed to compete with Apple's iPod nano. It offers a better screen for watching video or playing movies, but it doesn't stand up to the iPod's polished music system.
This 8GB Sony MP3 player is a strong competitor to the iPod Nano

Summary: Sony's mid-level MP3 player competes with the iPod Nano, and while it is superior for video or photo viewing, the interface doesn't hold a candle to Apple's tried and tested iPod menu system. If you're a multimedia enthusiast and don't mind the lack of Wi-Fi , we'd seriously consider getting the Sony NWZ-S544 instead of Apple's Nano.
Pros: Good quality screen, inbuilt stereo speakers
Cons: No Wi-Fi, inferior controls to iPod Nano, poor bundled earphones
