It has a built-in 2-inch LCD display and it also comes with storage capacity of either 4GB or 8GB on its internal flash memory for storing files and it also enables user to play AAC, MP3, PCM, WMA, video (MPEG-4, H.264/AVC, and WMV) and including Protected WMA subscription content from the likes of Rhapsody and Napster, plus support Amazon Video on demand. It comes in a variety of colours in the likes of Black, Red, Pink, or Blue.
The Sony NWZ-E436F features easy to use menus with short cut icons, and it comes with storage capacity of either 4GB or 8GB. It also supports audio format such as AAC, MP3, PCM, WMA (protected and unprotected), video (MPEG-4, H.264/AVC, and WMV) as well as JPEG photo playback, plus user can use it as a flash drive, with the USB 2.0 support, to store other digital files for backup or transferring files. The device provides a built-in 5-band factory preset equalizer such as Pop, Jazz, Heavy, Custom and Unique that brings out the best sound mix for your music, plus two user preset equalizer. The NWZ-E436F has a built-in colour QVGA LCD display that measures 2.0-inch 262K colour TFT with 240-by-320-pixels that displays razor sharp videos, photos and album art in portrait or widescreen format. The display also feature a multi-lingual menu such as French, German, Korean, English, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese (simplified) and Chinese (traditional) languages. In the music submenu, items are sorted by ID3 tag into playlists, artists, albums, and so on, or navigate by folder (as it is arranged on your desktop). Tracks are split into sections of letters (A-B, C-E, and so forth) for speedy navigation, and you may browse albums by album art for a more visual experience. Album art can also be magnified on the playback screen. Below the 2-inch screen are the main playback controls which consist of a five-way control pad, a back/home button, and an option key that brings up various contextual menus. Sony includes a dedicated volume rocker on the right spine, as well as a hold switch. The bottom of the unit houses the standard 3.5mm headphone jack and a proprietary USB port. It is fitted with a Digital FM radio tuner with auto-scan function, 30 preset slot stations, Headphone cord FM antenna, tuner frequency range FM of 87.5 to 108 MHz, digital player response bandwidth of 20 to 20000 Hz, plus music playback modes such as repeat shuffle and one track repeat. Besides that, the device works with a variety of jukeboxes such as Windows Media Player or Rhapsody, or user can use the Sony Content Transfer application, which allows for drag and drop from any hard drive or from the iTunes interface. Is there some way to delete songs/files on the go, directly from the player? Or do I have to connect to my computer to delete something? Have looked in manual--does not address--so I guess you can't do it. I listen to downloaded NPR shows and like to delete them as soon as done listening.

I have bought 2 of these and each one is having the same problem. After a few months of use, I went to plug them in when the battery was low, and it would indicate "full" the second I plugged it in, without even charging. Anyone know how to fix this?

Here's how to create a playlist on the NWZ-E436F Digital Media Player: 1. Make sure Windows is up and running on your PC. 2. Using the cable provided with your Player, connect it to any available USB port. 3. On the PC, run Windows Explorer. Make sure "Connected USB" shows in the Player readout. 4.
