Excerpt: This is the second Sony MP3 player that I have used and must say that these new Sony players have come on leaps and bounds. The player itself is very small and light and will fit in any pocket. One of the best features is that unlike older Sony players and other brands this modle does not require software to load your music to the player, however it is an option.
Pros: Drag and drop file transfer, small and stylish
Excerpt: Great little player, excellent sound quality (due to a combination of great supplied earphones and the output of the player), crisp, clear video viewing and a very nice layout of buttons. I own the black version of the player, which looks great. The player has a metal casing, making it strong and durable (I have dropped it several times, and it shows no marks or chips). The screen is is said to be scratch resistant, and that holds true up until now.
Pros: sound quality, video quality, appearance, value for money, ease of use .
Cons: Doesn't support a great amount of formats for playback .
Sony Walkman 16 GB: Great media player, but not without faults...
18 May 2009
Excerpt: "Getting Started" On the whole, I found this easy. The player comes preloaded with four music tracks and you can even set music to be automatically transferred from your computer to the Walkman. It comes with software - but to be honest I haven't felt the need to install it as I found transferring media to the player can be done quite easily without it.
Pros: Large 16GB capacity, easy to use interface, easy to transfer music/pictures, superb sound quality .
Cons: Incompatibility with many video formats and competitor mains/USB recharger adaptors
Summary: Just purchased this player only to find out sony have dropped ATRAC codec (only in europe I believe) which allowed gapless play. Being a big fan of compilations I found this very disapointing not being able to listen to one song mix into another. Never the less, I plugged it in, ripped some tunes and the sound quality was amazing! The standard heaphones are great and there is no need to upgrade! Bluetooth can be long winded to end or pair. Why no ATRAC or line out SONY?
Excerpt: Got the Sony NWZ-A829 a week ago as i needed an mp3 player. Up to now I've just had a cheap 2 GB MP3 player. I wanted a player with a large memory capacity but didn't want an iPod. The mp3 player is very sexy and looks amazing, i wanted a good looking mp3 player and one with enough memory and this is perfect for all of that, its a bit pricey but it is worth it and i would reccommend to everyone.
Excerpt: I have sony ericsson mobile, I am fully satisfied but I would buy this. I think I have 99% of this in my sony ericsson mobile so why buy it? If I wanted something special I would definately buy iPod.
Excerpt: The device doesn't have a reliable software program/ no instructions as to how to convert video formats- for they assume everyone knows what they're doing/ warranty is provided for the mere purpose that all technology is required to come with one/ provided charger is in USB form- you must pay for the wall outlet charger/ popular music formats they refer to are mainly windows- and for the population that prefers streaming (everyone) will have to find a compatible mp3/mp4...
Excerpt: Got the Sony NWZ-A829 a couple of days ago as a present. Up to now I've just had a cheap 2gb MP3 player. I wanted a player with a large memory capacity but didn't want an iPod. The machine is very sleek, less than a centimetre wide and looks very stylish, in shiny black. As an extra I bought the silicone case which came with a free screen protector as I was worried that it'd get scratched. I'd pleased that I did.
