Sony Walkman NWZ-A729 (16GB, black) - They don't make them like they used to!

Summary: This MP-3 player is one of the best ever made and where it shines is in the sound, your iPOD's don't give you the sound like these Sony's do. This is what's important 'THE SOUND'. I really wish Sony would bring these MP-3 players back into production, but alas. Anyway, there are also Bluetoth models out there to be had! It's the drag and drop ease of use and the large screen and strong build that makes these MP-3 players a top pick!
the greatest mp3 player...ever. yes, even more so than ipod

Summary: Well, I was (and still am I guess) an IPOD fan and owned an 80 gb IPOD classic. I loved it to death for the two years I had it but it was recently stolen from me. I simply couldn't afford another IPOD of that size (it was an xmas present so I never spent a cent the first time around) so I started looking at the smaller IPODS or alternatives. I went with the sansa fuze (not a bad player but I had some issues with it.
Summary: The Sony 16-Gig Walkman Stereo MP3 Player is truly a super product. The device holds lots of music and the ear buds that come with it have high quality sound. So the whole unit gives superior output as well as having decent capacity - e.g. holds up to 4000 music files. Unless you are waiting for the newer touch-screen MP3's or perhaps, a little more storage capacity, this device could be an exceptional option. I use it almost daily as part of my exercise routine.
Summary: Great MP3. Wanted something simple to use and to download tons of CDs. All the gadgets needed were easily obtained to make it an even better experience. Am amazed at how much material this player holds, easy to use controls, very nice playback. Recommend this player to anyone not wanting an ipod.
Pros: Fantastic sound, great screen (for pics), controls are excellent (very easy to work). Love that sony has finally gotten rid of sonicstage & now has drag and drop. Does everything I want an mp3 player to do.
Cons: Lack of expandable memory is a problem, prompting me to go out and buy the 16GB. Lack of standard USB & only charges via USB Lack of FM Radio & Voice recorder.
"better by far 4 simplicity and sound quality than ipod"

Pros: easy to use, no organising of another media manager to transfer music just plug it in open windows media and drag and drop the tracks you want or just do all like i did as it has 16 gig of memory so no trawling through the library picking favorites
Cons: you cant use the walkman while it is charging (unless there is an accesory i haven't found) the 'kick stand' is useless and if you attatch it to the walkman it could scratch the screen
Summary: OK! First and formost for me. I had no problems drop and dragging folders from my PC to this unit. Get this! My folders showed up as one of the choices in the menu besides artist, album, etc....The sound! Well! The earbuds that come with the unit are very good. However, I have a pair of new high end earbuds from Shures (Shure 530) and Westone (OM3). Personally, I enjoy the Westone 3's.
Summary: First of all, I want an MP3 player to play music and do it well. Anything else, (video, pictures, etc) is a bonus. This player is absolutely the audiophile's MP3 player. The audio is simply the best. I've owned or have used many of the other brands (Sansa, iPod, Zune, etc), and none compare to the Sony Walkman. Some of the audio features, like the customizable equalizer, Dynamic Normalizer, Clear Stereo, VPT, and DSEE give the listener control over the audio.
Pros: Love the sound quality and the menu config. is easy to manipulate and use. The Bluetooth headphones are great too. I can get lots done while listening to music and not have to worry about dropping my mp3player.
