Summary: This MP-3 player is one of the best ever made and where it shines is in the sound, your iPOD's don't give you the sound like these Sony's do. This is what's important 'THE SOUND'. I really wish Sony would bring these MP-3 players back into production, but alas. Anyway, there are also Bluetoth models out there to be had! It's the drag and drop ease of use and the large screen and strong build that makes these MP-3 players a top pick!
the greatest mp3 player...ever. yes, even more so than ipod

Summary: Well, I was (and still am I guess) an IPOD fan and owned an 80 gb IPOD classic. I loved it to death for the two years I had it but it was recently stolen from me. I simply couldn't afford another IPOD of that size (it was an xmas present so I never spent a cent the first time around) so I started looking at the smaller IPODS or alternatives. I went with the sansa fuze (not a bad player but I had some issues with it.
Summary: I got the 16gb version of this player today from Ebay (perfect condition, no headphnes) for for about 30% of the cost here. I own several mp4 and mp3 players all with great sound including less famous brands coming out of China. The sound on this SONY is outstanding, but when you consider all of the other features to be found on players like the Samsung Q1 (or even the gorgeous touch screen P2 these days) for more than $100.00 less, I can not justify recommending this...
Summary: Great MP3. Wanted something simple to use and to download tons of CDs. All the gadgets needed were easily obtained to make it an even better experience. Am amazed at how much material this player holds, easy to use controls, very nice playback. Recommend this player to anyone not wanting an ipod.
Summary: First of all, I want an MP3 player to play music and do it well. Anything else, (video, pictures, etc) is a bonus. This player is absolutely the audiophile's MP3 player. The audio is simply the best. I've owned or have used many of the other brands (Sansa, iPod, Zune, etc), and none compare to the Sony Walkman. Some of the audio features, like the customizable equalizer, Dynamic Normalizer, Clear Stereo, VPT, and DSEE give the listener control over the audio.
Summary: I bought this sony player to replace a cowon that I loved but that went out of production. Hardware: The overall quality of the construction seems pretty good. The major flaw is that the screen is plastic and scratches really easily. I don't get what Sony is thinking here, either use a harder plastic, put a scratch resistant coating or just use glass (probably the best option in terms of durability and clarity).
Summary: The Good: Amazing sound quality, well built, good finger pad, dedicated volume buttons, screen quality, drag and drop file transfer, flash memory, decent headphones. The Bad: Software interface is lacking compared to a Creative, proprietary USB connection, built in battery (I know most players have this know, but that doesn't make it OK), expensive, no microphone, no radio. Overall the player is amazing.
Summary: So, I heard the audio from this player at my friend's house. It was much clearer, and well defined than that of any iPod. I DO HAVE A QUESTION??? about the video conversion. If I use videora or another video to Mp4 converter, what resolution do I need to set it to? Will this player accept video formats that have been converted from xvid, divx, avi--to MP4 using said conversion programs? Which programs do you recommend?
Summary: Bought this little player about a month ago. I was very excited to get it based on audio quality reviews and user interface quality. The player delivered on battery life, ease of use, screen quality and overall construction. However the audio quality in my opinion was disappointing. Paired with a pair of Shure E500 PTH, the bass and warmth at the low end cannot come close to my old IRIVER H320.
