"Fantastic sound, great picture quality"

lm888, CNET
25 January 2009
  • Pros: Fantastic sound, great screen (for pics), controls are excellent (very easy to work). Love that sony has finally gotten rid of sonicstage & now has drag and drop. Does everything I want an mp3 player to do.
  • Cons: Lack of expandable memory is a problem, prompting me to go out and buy the 16GB. Lack of standard USB & only charges via USB Lack of FM Radio & Voice recorder.

"better by far 4 simplicity and sound quality than ipod"

xyy81t, CNET
9 January 2009
  • Pros: easy to use, no organising of another media manager to transfer music just plug it in open windows media and drag and drop the tracks you want or just do all like i did as it has 16 gig of memory so no trawling through the library picking favorites
  • Cons: you cant use the walkman while it is charging (unless there is an accesory i haven't found) the 'kick stand' is useless and if you attatch it to the walkman it could scratch the screen

  • Pros: Love the sound quality and the menu config. is easy to manipulate and use. The Bluetooth headphones are great too. I can get lots done while listening to music and not have to worry about dropping my mp3player.
  • Cons: Wish it had FM radio.

"Does all I need, extremely well. Great toy."

picconiv, CNET
12 October 2008
  • Pros: Looks great, nice metallic finish. Battery life is much better than my last ipod Nano, the screen is bright and big, extremely thin, very large capacity. Noise Cancelling and headphones included are by far the best feature.
  • Cons: Proprietary port for charging and no wall charger (Same difects as Ipod).

Quality of sound is phenomenal

Mike from Holland, B&H Photo
5 August 2008
  • Summary: I only want a MP3 player to listen to music. I use a phone to call a friend and a navigation system to find my way.The Sony delivers the music. It can fit most of my music library and with the high-grade ear-phones gives a high quality sound. You can change the equalizer-settings, but I didn't bother. The menu is straight forward enough an it has an easy lock-button.The only problem I have had is that I can't get it to work with MediaMonkey.
  • Pros: Great Sound, Lots of Storage, Simple Controls, Sleek/Compact
  • Cons: Mediocre software

Sony Walkman - genius

sashajoanne, Dooyoo
25 June 2011
  • Summary: All my life i had stuck to the typical mp3 player and although the idea of owning a walkman intrigued me i was still uncertain as to whether i should actually get one as i had no complaints with my current. But then my current mp3 player failed and broke, and it had also run out of room so i could not fit my entire music collection on it, which did make me annoyed at many occasions while out of the house.
  • Pros: simple to use, decent memory, good sound quality
  • Cons: Complicated to set up software on pc

Who needs an ipod?

Huff, Dooyoo
4 November 2010
  • Summary: Small but perfectly formed. It may have been around a good few years now but i still havent seen anything newer than id consider swapping my little sony for. If you dont want, dont like or cant afford an ipod then this little MP3 is for you. I always found the ipods tracking wheel system difficult to get on with and disliked the fact that you have to use itunes with it. The sony stores and plays songs in standard mp3 format which makes things a lot easier.
  • Pros: Sound quality, FM radio option, neat screen, simple to use, good value for money
  • Cons: Limited accessories available

Sony Walkman NWZ-A729 16 GB: Very Simple to Use

mike489, Dooyoo
9 September 2010
  • Summary: I bought this walkman for listening to music while I work out. It simply spells "excellent". Even though sony devices are known to be a bit expensive, I took the risk and bought this, and so far it has actually been extremely rewarding. When I played music for the first time in this walkman I got a reward for every penny I gave for this thing.
  • Pros: Excellent sound quality, very good video and photo playback, v.good battery life, stylish earphones
  • Cons: Pricey, memory expansion, average USB connection

Sony Walkman NWZ-A729 16 GB: Breaking my eardrums to bring you a review

eilidhcatriona, Dooyoo
19 October 2009
  • Summary: As a music lover, I have to have some way of listening to music while out and about. That said, I tend to be a little late in catching up with technology. I had a cassette walkman years after everyone else had a CD walkman. I got one of them, and MP3 players appeared. I got my first MP3 player over 3 and a half years ago, and it wasn't top of the market. I kept this until April this year, when on a bit of a whim I bought the Sony NWZ-A729.
  • Pros: Easy to use, lightweight, excellent playback
  • Cons: Surface is a little slippery and easy to drop
