Summary: This is a great little unit, with superb sound quality for the size. The battery life is amazing and the time ton recharge (from USB port) can't be beaten. The earphones are of good quality (although jumping on the ipod bandwagon being white!) with great bass and tone. Once you get used to the controls, it is extremely easy to navigate around and you can find most features relatively quickly. This is perfect for the gym due to it's size and weight.
Summary: I received this atrac player as a Christmas gift back in 2006. The structure of it is nice, and I have all my favorite music on it. But I wanted to inform the buyer about the radio capability. The reception on the FM Tuner is just terrible, with some stations you can't even pick up or to the radio station not coming in clear.
Summary: This is a small sleak player that definitely lands in the cool category. I was very disappointed when I first go the player because I thought I would have to use Sony's SonicStage software on Windows. After some searching on the internet I found Symphonic, [...] which is Java based and works on Linux. A simple tutorial can be found at [...]%28Device%29 Symphonic is much faster than SonicStage and makes putting files onto, and taking files off of the Walkman a breeze.
Summary: Not to beat this to point to a pulp, but as many of the other reviewers have pointed out, the flaw of this player is the lack of "drag and drop" capability. Also, the lack of ability to listen to on the road if you need to charge it is a pain. if your car has usb port or you have lighter adapter with usb, you can charge this, but it is in usb mode and can't be listened to.
great design, great sound, poor execution on software

Summary: Not to beat this to point to a pulp, but as many of the other reviewers have pointed out, the flaw of this player is the lack of "drag and drop" capability. Also, the lack of ability to charge on the road (unless you have a portable computer with USB, or a computer where you are going) this thing is dead in the water on a car ride. All my other players use alkaline batteries or can use a cord.
Summary: I haven't figured out entirely how to use this yet. The frustration began when the DVD wouldn't download. I had to go through a chat session with Sony for them to then send me a link to their web site. I downloaded the software from there. It's also crazy that you can't turn it off from the FM radio mode and that wasn't in the manual- I had to find it on the Web. Once I get it up and running I should know if I actually like this MP3 player, or not.
Summary: I bought this mp3 because I really wanted something more simple than Ipod and with more functions, but I think I made a huge mistake!! I already have a Nano and I think it is really great, but you have to use Itunes to put music inside it and it can not be used as a pen drive and do not play FM/AM. What I did not know about Sony is that it also comes with a software called Sonic Stage and it does not work in Macintosh!! This is not written in the box, only in the manual.
Summary: The design of this Sony is very sleek and stylish. The FM tuner works great and is a nice feature to have. Once you get the music on the player it works very well and has a long battery life. Therein lies the problem. You can only use the proprietary Sony software to load the music, so if you are already used to using windows media player or Real Networks player you are out of luck.
Summary: Bonjour à tous!
Cons: Surtout, surtout, l'incompatibilité aux MP3 !
