A great quality, all be it old, mp3 player

  • Excerpt: I used to hate Ipod's and apple so decided to buy a Sony Mp3 player. I have now converted to apple's evil ways as I am too weak minded. Whilst I like the ipod I loved my old song mp3. Whilst the design seem very out dated now, when it was new it was one of the best players on the market. The Sony's best feature in my opinion is the look and style of it. The player comes in grey, black or purple.

  • Excerpt: It's a sony, in my opinion, you can't go wrong with a sony. I bought this product before the latest ipods came out, and to this date still use mine! It is around five years old and still works well! Now to the technical stuff, I found it was easy to use, i used the software which came with the device, it has been reported that this software slows your PC, but mine was not affected by it.

Retro Mp3ing at it's best, if two years old can count as retro.

  • Excerpt: The Sony NW-A1200 is by now an ancient mp3 player style. It does not play videos, hold your photos or solve world peace as many of the mp3's on the market do today, it does not have many capabilites past playing music, however, weirdly enough this is the only capability I really need from my personal portable music player.

get an ipod, they r better

  • Excerpt: As soon as the fasion of getting an ipod started up, I decided to venture into dixons to get an opinion on buying an mp3, to be told that buying the new (at the time) sony walkman was better than buying an ipod as the battery could be removed when it stopped working. So i brought one and downloaded all the software and songs. But after a couple of months, things started to go wrong.

Solid hardware let down by terrible software

  • Excerpt: I bought the Sony NW-A1200 in March for around £100, as it was well-reviewed and far cheaper than similarly specced iPods. I didn't need video, radio, games - just an MP3 player, with decent battery life and sound quality. Which is probably a good job, considering the NW-A1200 lacks all these features. First impressions: Not as sleek or thin as the iPod, but still an impressive looking thing; a semi-transparent design resembling an oddly-shaped egg.

This music player easily organizes your music for you and has a very low power consumption, which means you won't be charging it for a long time. It has a fashionable and trendy design, so you will defenitley by noticed the moment you walk past someone with the music player in your hand.

Great, affordable MP3

  • Excerpt: Sony Walkman has a beautiful sleek design, without compromising in strength - they are (virtually) indestructable. Very easy to operate and packed with features. A wide range of play modes mean that you can set the player to choose tracks completely at random, tracks of a certain genre, or tracks from a particular album or artist. Music library is easy to browse, allowing you to find the perfect song for any occasion quickly and easily.
  • Pros: Sleek Design, durable, easy to use
  • Cons: software can be slow for large libraries

what you would expect from a sony product!

  • Excerpt: I've always liked the styling and high quality of Sony products and this is no exeption! Ipod owning friends have mocked at how much Sony's compression squashes each track but I've found the quality to be very impressive on the default settings. I thought 8Mb might not take all of my modest CD collection and I'd be wishing I'd bought the 30Gb version but I haven't even used half of the disk. There's no colour screen or video/photo facility but who needs it.
  • Pros: sleek, stylish look, great sound quality, comes with wall charger .
  • Cons: monochrome screen, hard to get used to the controls .

Sony Wakman Review

joe_ensol..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: Overall this mp3 player is a god quality sound with an ice looking well designed casing, Firstly the screen is centered behind a plastic semi transparent casing so there are no edges to the screen which is good for the look of the item, and the design is definitely one of its strong points. Another up side to this mp3 player is that is of great value for money, good memory for as little as £80 for a new one, almost half the price you can get an i-pod for.
  • Pros: A good sound quality and sleek looking design, good screen
  • Cons: No preactical hold button
