Summary: I bought this device from Amazon for [..], so I wasn't expecting a lot, even though I knew it was listed previously for [..]. First off, I am a big user of Pandora. So naturally, when I caught wind of Slacker at the SD forums, I jumped on it and don't regret this purchase.
Summary: I've had my Slacker player for about a month now and use it almost every day. It's a great device if you like listening to music and don't want to buy (or steal) thousands of dollars worth of MP3's.
Summary: I love my Slacker! I have it set to download a few "stations". The stations are customizable from online. I was concerned about how it would work with my Mac. It is fine! I use the website to customize my stations and then I have my Slacker use wifi for updates.
Summary: Pros: endless selection of free music, lots of station choices, make your own station, beautiful screen, older model G1 is very affordable. Also, this thing shines when coupled with an iRiver FM transmitter in the car... Cons: Oddly designed buttons, finicky scroll wheel, odd touch bar controls.
Summary: I bought this for my hubby for Christmas. It was a great price and worked awesome. This summer, however, it started taking longer to start up or turn off, and now it won't turn on at all. Hopefully we can get it figured out so we don't have to toss it.
Summary: I absolutely love the Slacker radio concept and streaming music. I have been using the G1 portable for a year and suffered through all the firmware issues and technical bugs. When it works - it is GREAT! When it fails to start up, or sync I want to scream!
Summary: I love that I do not need to manually select every song that I want to download to my portable music player. This makes Slacker a no-brainer to buy, and operate. It automatically connects to any of the WIFI areas that you have set it up for, and downloads new music.
Summary: It only took 2 days to get my Slacker, BUT when I tried to refresh it, nothing. It worked good till I did that. I talked with a Slacker Tech via email. I tried everything he suggested and more and it still wouldn't work. I shipped it back to Slacker, ( I had to pay posted and insurance on it).
