Summary: I use this guy for an office sound system and it works great. Too bad they don't sell it new anymore, probably because smart phones run slacker. This is much more solid than a phone for just running slacker.
Summary: Like it because it comes with alot of cool features at a amazing price. Dislike the software and how slow it is to react to commands. Besides it being slow as a 8086 IBM, Its pretty darn good player.
Summary: Slacker Radio is the ONLY true personalized radio, and the G2 is the perfect tool for bringing Slacker with me wherever I go. It's compact size & convenient holder with clip, make it ridiculously easy to take along! I loved my G1, but the G2 is even better! The buttons are more conveniently positioned, so that when I'm listening on my treadmill, I can easily skip a song, ban it, or mark it a favorite, without missing a step! Thanks, Slacker!
Summary: Slacker Radio is great but when you can take it with you - even better. The Slacker G4 is a beautifully designed product that plays music with a twist. When activated with you're slcker account you can take hundreds of songs from every genre where ever you go. Album covers and band/group info is a bonus. Pay the couple of bucks a month and you can skip all you want with no comercial interuption. Can't believe that these are so available, try it you will love it!
Summary: MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. I got the G2. After six weeks, the button to lower the volume stopped working. Sent it in and got a quick replacement. Now, after 12 days of trying to get the new hardware to function with my PC, I give up. Don't waste your hard-earned $.
Summary: None of my stations will play on my G2. "You must refresh your portable before you can play this station" is the message I receive. I've refreshed...I've removed all the stations and tried adding random ones...I've created new stations...I've done a hard reset...I've done the "factory reset"...but I receive the same error. Additionally, the battery runs down constantly.
Summary: I love my Slacker! I use it all the time in my car. It breaks the repetition that I fall into with my Ipod. it also helps me find new artists. I have found that the stations have a nice variety. The music doesn't all sound the same and it is picking out music that I like. I have found myself discovering music as I have listened to it. Much like regular radio it exposes me to things I haven't considered.
Summary: After reading several negative reviews I was hesitant about purchasing the G2. However, I have been using my G2 for over a month without any of the problems mentioned in the negative reviews, and am very happy with my purchase. I bought my G2 on sale directly from Slacker, which included a dock at no extra cost.
