The Sansa View looks a bit boring when compared with the Samsung P2 or the iPod touch—but it offers standard features and plenty of storage at the best price. Read more

    • Affordable. Expandable. Sharp display. Fast menu navigation. FM and voice recording.
    • Large for a flash device. Graphics seem dated. So-so voice recorder.

SanDisk is best known for its SD cards, but the company's also a dab hand at producing affordable and flexible portable players. The View is one of the latest models in the Sansa range. Read more

The entire SanDisk Sansa line of MP3 players is undoubtedly the leader in the best “bang for your buck category” and this is no different for the View considering its many features and large capacities. Over time you will see the View getting big discounts like seen with the e200; making this player even more attractive. There are a few trade-offs in firmware stability, screen, and build quality, so it may not be a winner for the more demanding consumer. Read more

    • Inexpensive, Expandable microSD Slot, Good radio, Great looking video out

Pros: -Linux compatible (!!!) -Nice capactity and expandable with it's MicroSD/SDHC card slot. -Good vibrant display -Supports a wide-range of formats Cons: -More often than not, it would not pull in album artwork? -Mine would occasionally freeze on me - player would still be playing music, but I could not browse menus/media ... tried to update firmware but that didn't seem to stop this issue. First let me say that I never owned an ipod even though I compare this device to an ipod in this review. However, I have used my friend's ipod and evaluated one at the Apple store when I was shopping around for a media player. Since most mp3 players try to imitate the ipod design anyway, it's only appropriate to compare it as the "standard."LOOK & FEEL: The Sansa View has a thin profile - only about 1/4 inch thick. Bought another for my wife for Christmas (from Newegg) and got a great deal. FOR THE MONEY, you won't regret it if you just want to listen to your mpg music. On paper, this a fantastic product. In practice, not so much. The design of the firmware is at best, terrible. It requires a firmware update in order to be recognized as a drive and to do many of the basics that basic archos products could do out of the box.
