Summary: This was a waste of money. It's difficult to use and keeps freezing. Bought it as a birthday present and the child could not use it. We both were disappointed. This was one of my worse purchases at Overstock.
Summary: While running, the battery dies. Not knowing exactly what was wrong I pressed the Next and the Vol. up buttons. Now when I press the Up Volume the screen locks. Otherwise, when I turn on the player, the menu icons run nonstop across the screen. Pressing and holding the power button, for however long, has no effect.... At least Sony has a hard reset hole. So I downloaded and installed(maybe) the latest firmware. But could not setup because the next button is frozen.
Cannot handle basic playlists; 0/3 Sandisk guides resolve problem; No lock or recording feature

Summary: My clip+ died, so I picked up the new version (this questionable innovation). The first thing I noticed was that it didn't have the old home/lock button nor the separate power button that the clip+ did. The second thing I noticed was that the microphone is gone; if, like me, you prefer to use a combined mp3 player/recorder to record your singing rehearsals and tests, that feature is gone as well.
Excerpt: DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY. The scan disk sansa clip is JUNK I have owned four sansa clip over the last three years they last about 8 to 10 months then they just stop working. Sometimes if you let the sansa set overnight it might or might not work again. I am tired of have to continually buy replacement clips because of scan disk poor design and cheap workmanship.
Cons: Freezes Up, Insufficient Storage, Short Battery Life, Short Player Life Span
Summary: Designed for the person who is clueless about computers. This device doesn't allow the user to set up files names. All the files are pre-set. Therefore the content you load onto the Sansa Clip will be placerd into the pre-named files that some software designer at Samsa created. Good luck finding your music or your audio books. There isn't even a category for audio books.
Summary: Use this vendor at your own risk. The item I purchased arrived on time. The set-up and charging were uneventful. The player worked for little more than one hour before freezing up. I have contacted the vendor twice, once through Amazon and a second time directly. No response. My family has 4 Sansa MP3 players (purchased at different times) and I am quite familiar with them. I realized at the time of the purchase the item was refurbished. I did expect it to function.
Great player, but poor reliability on the refurbed version

Summary: Purchased a refurb version for myself and a new one for my wife. Mine started behaving erratically (randomly freezing up or shutting off) after a month or so. My wife's new one has worked flawlessly for a year+. Purchase the new model for a few $$ more.
