If you are a runner, look elsewhere -

J. Fierstein, Amazon
21 June 2007
  • Summary: If you run, & sweat when you run, this unit will NOT hold up. Samsung will tell you it is designed for sport enthusiasts...it is not. This MP3 (1 year) malfunctioned due to 'Water Damage' resulting from perspiration...not caught in the rain, not dropped in the sink.

Faulty product NOT supported by Samsung

kramey, Amazon
1 May 2007
  • Summary: I bought this player December '06, and was very pleased with it for 4 months. However, when I went to delete files one day, I got a No space for DB error, and the player froze on the Samsung screen. I reset the player to no avail. The player is not recognized by a computer now.

My new best friend

T. Halbert, Amazon
1 March 2007
  • Summary: I just got this in the mail yesterday. And I have to admit, I was turned off by how small this little thing is. The photos make it look so big. But in this case, size has nothing to do with this. The sound this thing gives is impressive.

Awesome audio but awkward controls

Visual Avatar, Amazon
9 January 2007
  • Summary: The audio from the large lighter size player is awesome, incredible. The controls are awkward and setup and operation takes a long time. The manual is more detailed than for most products but the player does not always respond consistently in accordance with the instructions.

Nice compact MP3 Player

Anonymous, Newegg
29 December 2006
  • Summary: A++ Would recommend for anyone who wants a quality player for a non-Ipod Price !!
  • Pros: Bought it for my son for Christmas.........He loves it and the sound quality is good.
  • Cons: Very small ....wasn't aware of the player being THAT small. But don't let it's size fool you..a fine quality player with alot of features not in my older son's Ipod 30 GB version.

Works great

Ben J., Newegg
26 September 2006
  • Summary: This little player is awesome. It has so much capability in such a little package. Recorded a concert with it the other night and it was unbelievable quality for such a small thing. everything about it except for the earbuds is top quality.
  • Pros: Display makes it really easy to use, Good sound quality, Awesome Mic recording quality even at concerts, Line in is a plus, Radio works good, Drag and drop is soooo nice, flashy, very customizable settings menu, TINY LIL THING!!!
  • Cons: Cant really do playlists (awesome navigation menu makes up for this some though), Radio reception is ok, not great, factory headphones sound ok if set in ear perfectly - they wont work for the gym or if making any movements. Also, wish it had other charging method then usb, but eeeh, it works.

Great bang for the buck

Michael S., Newegg
2 July 2006
  • Summary: All things said this is an excellent device for the money. Rivals any over priced Ipod and it doesnt feel cheap and delicate like most Ipods do. Instuctions could be better, have to play with it to access all the features.
  • Pros: Great little MP3 player. This is my first one and im very happy with it. Screen is easy to read, features are well layed out. I love the fact it has a radio and Graphic equalizer as well. Very easy to hook up to your home stereo with an RCA to headphone adapter.
  • Cons: Ear phones could be better, the sound quality is very good with high bitrate songs (256/320), but they're a little uncomfortable and over a period of time and they fall out. I might upgrade those in the future. The Square chrome button in the front is very prone to scratches and finger prints eve...

Last time I was buying something from Samsung...

Anonymous, Newegg
22 May 2006
  • Summary: Be sure you're running WinXP and Media Player 10.
  • Pros: Nice design, sleek, silver tiny thing.
  • Cons: Never saw it working :( I'm using Win2k, not XP, have never been running Players 9 or 10 (from Microsoft). So all my attempts to see it in Windows as a drive failed. Called to their service center - and this is a real pain! After 20 minutes of hard talks they resumed: OK, it will never work, plea...
