Summary: I have had my Samsung YH-920 for 2 years now, and have NEVER had any problems with it. It's got a huge storage capacity, is sooo easy to run, and has great sound quality. Like many people on here, I was not impressed by the iPod and went with something with better features. As of right now, I have 2381 songs on the player... all play perfectly with no problems. I have Windows XP and did not need to install anything, as XP found and installed any drivers needed for me.
Summary: It's true that the device is meant to be used with the Napster software, but you don't have to. It is also possible to use Windows Media Player 10 to synchronize your device with your MP3. As pointed by others, you can also copy the files directly and then rebuild the library with Samsung's recovery utility. In any case, you have to be a minimally technically skilled to do these tasks.
Okay, I have figured out how to use this YH-920 now!!!!

Summary: I have had this YH-920 for a couple days now. I got it from a friend, but he had lost the installation CD for it!!!! So I thought I'll see what I can find on the web. Samsungs own site has support on it, which includes this player, allowing downloads of various software. After reading bits n bobs on the net, I downloaded the Napster software, which after a while I managed to get wokring.
Summary: I highly recommend you do not buy this product because there is nothing but problems with it. I have had many problems with it such as NAPSTER which is horrible and sucks. Napster just doesnt want to do want I want it to do and transfering the songs has messed up many times. All in all, samsung should burn all of the yh-920's because they are worthless and I recommend buying an IPOD. It has has brought me much happiness. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
Summary: I bought one six months ago, and I'm logged on now to find two more for my kids. I want to set a couple of things straight. You do not have to use the Napster software or even Windows media player if you don't want to. If you have MP3's or WMA files you can drag and drop them onto the unit using explorer, then you have to run a utility that comes with it to rebuild the library on the player. Very easy!!
Summary: I received this product and followed the instructions for installation. Much to my surprise there was no way to make it function (even with my previously stored music) without connecting to Napster which is a premium service (with a free trial period). I think this product is fundamentally deceptive by not letting people know that you MUST be connected with Napster to make it work.
Summary: ok, 1st i opened the box put it on the charger and it just made a buzzy noise and wouldnt turn on! when (a few hours later) i tried switching it on it finally worked! yipeeee. so i then inserted the cd which told me i needed media player 9 and to uninstall media player 10 and get media player 9 again. "microsoft does no longer have a download for media player 9 for windows xp" f**k!
Summary: The Samsung YH-920 was priced much lower than the Apple iPod. At $150 from ebay, it was not only less expensive than the iPod, but had more features, such as an FM Tuner. It plays both MP3 and WMA files. I found the installation and use of the software fast and easy. I have a PC with Windows XP and everything worked very well. The only thing I don't like the Napster connection. Music can be purchased for far less at other web sites.
Summary: I bought this player in January, and have been able to use it less than 10 times. I have had to fix problems everytime I try to put new songs on. I have had to send it back twice--for the same problem! The second time Samsung said they would send me a new player--a week later I was sent my old one that they said they couldn't fix. Now when I call to find out what is going on, customer service says sorry, nothing we can do..
