Summary: This device is inconsistent and a lot harder to use than it should be. There are major issues with the device driver installation which leads me to believe that this is one of the models built for overseas. I do not like this device and I would not recommend it for purchase.
Summary: This product was advertised as "Memory Capacity: 8 GB (Expandable w/SD Card)." The expandable memory cannot be used with apps, which is what I bought this thing for. The expansion memory is only good for photos and music and stuff like that. I bought this with a 32GB SD card, so I figured I'd have lots of space, but the 8 GB (really much less because of software on it) filled up fast and that was the end of the useful memory.
A strong contender for the top mp3 player manufacturer, but...

Summary: When I found out that Samsung had an mp3 player that had the functions of a smart phone, but without the wallet-draining data-packages I was really excited. I did my research and deemed this product a worthy buy. I LOVE this thing, but within several hours of purchasing it, I was already experiencing problems. For some reason it turns itself off randomly right when I'm using it..., I only have about 4 apps that I downloaded on the thing.
Summary: Outside looking was exactly like the comment in the market. However the machine did not work properly for the malfunction of the battery circuit. Then I selected the refund process after retuning the machine. The refund procee was handled polite and quick. So I selected double stars instead of zero.
Summary: The Galaxy Player 4.2 struggles with a slow, 1Ghz single core processor, which really detracts from the user experience. I have extremely noticeable lag when unlocking the screen and using several apps (such as n7player, a great music player app). Additionally, Samsung decided to use a proprietary charging system with this player, so it WILL NOT CHARGE when plugged into a computer or when plugged into a standard USB wall adapter plug.
Summary: The Samsung Player 5.0 was an impulse purchase from a local electronics store (sorry Amazon, you're exceptional). I've had this item for 6 months now. I won't get into any great details about what I like since the things I don't like pretty much cancel them out. I will say that after viewing and handling the 4" and 5" screen models, the 5" screen was the clear winner. The 4" screen was just too small to do anything productive.
Summary: DO NOT ORDER THIS Galaxy PLAYER 3.5. It has a feature which automatically lowers the volume while you are listening to it. You turn it back up, and then sometimes it turns it right back down. It then gives a message about listening levels causing hearing damage. If I had wanted to hear that, I could have my mama talk to me about that. I contacted Samsung and they said that inconveniance is unchangeable.
Summary: I ordered this Galaxy 5.0 player, exactly this one. I waited and finally got the one. But!!!! All of a sudden, I was surprised by the fact that they shipped Galaxy S 5.0, not the player. They are different. Player version does not have home butten. I was surely disappointed.... Other facts are okay. I felt like I was fulled.
Summary: Bought the 5 inch Samsung galaxy mp3 player 10 days back for my wife. It had trouble connecting to Wifi right out of the box. I did some research and finally figured out the problem and fixed it with static IP address etc. Finally it stopped jumping WIFI connections. Later on I did notice that it is not very good at holding on to weaker WIFI connections. While my Droid Razr and Asus transformer tablet didn't have any problems with the same weaker connections.
Summary: The product is awesome, but the first one I got froze and rebooted constantly. The second and third one I received could not run skype without randomly rebooting, and could not join a google+ hangout without throwing an error.. What a shame. Specifically, when you video chat on skype, try rotating the device sideways so that the screen goes wide, and then rotate back, if you repeat this a few times the device may reboot.
