Summary: I first bought a rio ce2100 over two years ago and fell in love. wow. how cool! simple, small, elegant, easy to play . . .in fact, it was so great, I went out and bought another unit as a back up right away. after all, the company isn't making them anymore and I worried about having a spare unit since I wanted one just like this in my life forever. well, needless to say, it wasn't that easy.
Summary: why spend at least 250$ for an apple brand mp3 player, when this one is just a fraction of the cost? the hard shell is more rugged than many, it has button lock mode if you want to tote it in a pocket, and is very easy to use. the battery lasts quite long- maybe @8-11 hrs on a full charge. the equalizer is not the most advanced, but that's what a home stereo is for. why expect concert performance from a computer chip?
Summary: I loved my Rio while it worked. However, I've only had it for a year (at most) and have had so many problems with it that I'm going to have to buy another player. Both my hustand and I have spent HOURS trying to fix it, but it repeatedly crashes, resets and give us an "upgrade" message. Even when we install the program and get the player working again, it crashes almost immediately. Rio is a horrible product, please save your money and buy another MP3 player.
Summary: I'm on my second one of these players. Want to love it, it looks cool, nice interface, lock controls, good battery life -- but on both models the thumb wheel/button broke, which means you can't adjust the volume anymore. I keep mine in my front pocket and the spring-loaded button, which is rather delicte, was pushed down into the device both times. I won't get another one, but I'm going to miss it.
Summary: My friend and I purchased this mp3 player, I don't know if was coincidence or what but the volume button of both mp3 players broke, at the time, I my opninon about this product and about the Rio company has changed alot. I've tried to get in touch with the Service Support and they didn't give the rigth attention. I asked them to send my mail the component which broke (volume button), but they said it wasn't possible...
Summary: I purchased this RIO about 6 months ago. The player is now frozen with "upgrader" displayed on the screen. In reading other reviews it seems that this happens frequently with several models of RIO mp3 players. I cannot access their website currently for support (yet I'm having no problem accessing any other websites...).
