Headphone jack SOLDER point

Patrick J., Newegg
5 July 2011
  • Summary: It's going to cost me 1/2 of the refund just to send it back. If it seems to good to be true ... it's probably cheap Chinese junk.
  • Pros: I cannot cite any pros as the tiny, extremely delicate solder point that holds the internal headphone jack assembly to the little green board is DESIGNED to break.
  • Cons: Inside the unit, there is a headphone jack assembly that is soldered to the greenboard. There is a tiny, delicate solder point that is literally designed so that it will break, and it's a shame that so many of us will have wasted our time and our money on this item. It's the first time I've ever ...

Pretty good...while it lasted.

Tina R., Newegg
4 May 2011
  • Summary: Wish someone would make a good, cheap MP3 player. I suppose you should probably consider this one disposable!
  • Pros: Inexpensive. Plays mp3 and branded audiobooks. Can sort by title, album, year, author - lots of indexing choices. Pretty good sound, but if you are looking for top quality audio, get something else. Can adjust sound (pop, jazz, etc.).
  • Cons: Bought 2/27/2011. Dead 05/04/2011. Was very gently used - just wouldn't turn on one day. Won't even open in computer. Dead, dead, dead. Had to rate it a 2 ...one egg for each month it lasted.

75% of working

Justin B., Newegg
26 April 2011
  • Summary: The one that died was the first one I let my friend use for a while and whom removed the preset songs. Maybe the MP3 player did not like my friend or maybe my friend just hit it on the ground before I got it back.
  • Pros: All MP3 players worked out of the boxes. Very easy to use. Comes with everything needed for it to work but good songs. Can lock the screen. New Egg is cool.
  • Cons: One died one-and-a-half months from the day I started to use it at work (just about every day for 9 hours a day). The problem was the contact with the LCD screen was broken, but I fixed it and works again. --Process a pain-- The songs that came with it are useless to me. Organizing the music in n...

Fragile

zachariah s., Newegg
20 April 2011
  • Summary: Wish it was rechargeable, but I guess i can always buy rechargeable batteries.
  • Pros: Cheap, Easy to use, long battery life.
  • Cons: Its so flimsy, if it gets knocked just a little the battery looses contact and shuts off the device.

Nice,compact,with belt clip

Chetan P., Newegg
12 April 2011
  • Pros: USB get folded inside.Nice FM clarity, can be used both as flashdrive and mp3 player.Belt clip provided. At the price its been offered i think its really worth and unmatchable.
  • Cons: Only one major con is you need to insert batteries. Better would have been if battery was built-in\rechargeable. Not a big deal, buy AAA size rechargeable batteries :)

Small, inexpensive

Anonymous, Newegg
25 March 2011
  • Pros: - Small - Inexpensive - Easy to load songs onto - Easy to navigate folders/songs
  • Cons: - Volume and sound clarity isn't so great - It feels like it wouldn't survive a drop to the concrete

Terrible quality

Nathan S., Newegg
25 March 2011
  • Summary: There are better products around for this price-point.
  • Pros: Small, AAA-battery operated, built in FM tuner
  • Cons: VERY fragile LCD screen. Broke within 2 weeks. The ribbon connector for the LCD is soldered to the logic board, and inseparable from the LCD panel itself, rendering this complete garbage if the screen breaks.

Don't Bother

Lydia W., Newegg
15 March 2011
  • Summary: If the left relay on this hadn't gone out I would give it 5 eggs, but with it not working properly I would not recommend anyone buy this. Looks like there are enough negative feedback reviews on this player that I wouldn't even bother trying a second one. I will probably go back to Sandisk.
  • Pros: Small, light, lots of memory for size.
  • Cons: Doesn't work. After owning it 1 week there is no relay to the left speaker no matter what it is hooked up to - headphones, output line, speakers.

Pleaseantly Surprised! Great Value!

Gregory A., Newegg
11 March 2011
  • Pros: Great value. I am impressed. Once you figure out how to access and then use all the functions in this little thing, it is quite a well engineered little device. Plays my music, audio books, and I really love the recording capability. Recorded a baseball game broadcast so I could listen to it late...
  • Cons: The weakest part of this product is the manual. When I researched buying this item those issues stood out in many of the reviews, just like this one. But it works well as advertised.

Almost there...

Moammad A., Newegg
6 March 2011
  • Summary: I may change the review once I receive a replacement unit.
  • Pros: 1-Affordable. 2-Small in size. 3-Uses AAA batteries. 4-Has built in USB port so you plug it straight into your PC and transfer files back and forth without needing to find cables or adapters.
  • Cons: I was looking for a basic mp3 which accepts either a AA or AAA batteries. I had an iRiver, which was perfect, but lost it, and iRiver isn’t sold in the U.S. anymore. So, the RCA looked like a decent replacement, but the unit I’ve received had a defective volume control and now I’m unable to incre...
