Summary: Ok I have had this mp3 player for four years and am surprised at the neg. feed back. Mine is still working and I have not been gentle with it by any means. I have dropped it, left it on the charger way too long, even got it wet once...and it is as dependable today as when I first bought it. That being said the battery after the third year only holds a charge for about four hours. I imagin batteries don't last forever so this seems fair to me..
Summary: A lot of reviewers are saying that this won't work with vista; I didn't have any problems using mine with vista. I think its comparable to a sansa c250 player, same quality and features and so far no bugs.
Summary: I bought this little player when we were in the process of moving across country. I wanted an MP3 player to use in the car since I would be driving it solo. It worked fine for about 11 months. Then one afternoon at the gym it winked off and would never turn on again. I did nothing to it to cause a failure. I charged it as the manual stated but it gave out with no warning. I would not waste my money on an RCA product like this.
Summary: By the way, I bought this at Walmart and I see on Amazon here that's it's not being marketed as a video player. On the official website and store packaging it is. Must not be a point to make on here, since it's false. I wanted to affirm what some others said. It takes FOREVER to put music on it and I can't do it with their software, only through Windows Media Player. It must just not be very compatible with Vista. For a regular mp3 player, this item is very good.
Summary: I have owned this M4002 for about 8 months and find it very easy to use. I often load it with a variety of WMA-DRM files to listen to with the AUX input on my clock radio. The earbuds that come with it are very comfortable and have great sound quality---best included-with-product earbuds of any portable product I have ever owned. I did have to upgrade the firmware one time through RCA's website but the directions to do so worked very well.
Pros: Great Sound, Reliable Performance, Sleek/Compact
Summary: When I first got my OPAL 2 years ago, I was really excited just to get a 2GB MP3 Player, because my first was a crappy $20.00 512MB player. PROS: The OPAL has a cute design, and the blue is really pretty. I found it very easy to load songs to, and since I don't have an extremely large library, it has enough space. CONS: I just wish that it could load videos more easily.
Summary: This player is a dream for anyone on a budget! The Opal's sleek and slim design make it a must for anyone on the go. The Opal has excellent and clear volume control, coming complete with three different sized ear buds to compliment any user. The video and picture display provide smooth, clear, and vivid images making The Opal a wonderful bargain buy!
Summary: It didn't work right out the box-I truly thought it was defective, I constantly have to press the reset button so I carry a paper clip around on it, trying to find a certain song on it is annoying, I have almost 400 songs and I'm out of space, the battery drains all the time even when it is off... on the plus...the ear buds are wonderful! very comfortable!! And I have senstive ears and can't handle most headphones.
Summary: I, or rather Santa bought this mp3 player for my son (5 years old) for Christmas. He absolutely loves it! The ear buds NEVER leave his ears. It was VERY easy to teach him how to use. He likes how small it is, it just slips easily into a pocket. So far it's stood up to the constant dropping and abuse from him with no problems. It charges fairly quick and keeps a charge for about 12 or so hours.
Summary: First, there were a couple of good things about this player. I like that it charges on the computer. My first MP3 player ran on batteries. You can also put pictures on it. I really don't have a need to have pictures on my MP3 player, but it's interesting if you want to carry some pictures around. This is what I don't like: 1. The package said that a full charge would last around 15 hours, but mine did not seem to last nearly that long.
