Review Summary

In this day and age, many people are on the go all of the time. In addition, many people enjoy spending some time each and every day at the gym. Wherever these people like to go, they not only want a sound track for life to follow them around, but many men and women — and many younger people as well — want a full blown media availability for their lives. In this day and age, many people are on the go all of the time. In addition, many people enjoy spending some time each and every day at the gym. Wherever these people like to go, they not only want a sound track for life to follow them around, but many men and women — and many younger people as well — want a full blown media availability for their lives. But, because of their activities — including going to the gym — people like this need a fitness friendly and durable media player. The RCA Lyra RD2212 fits the bill. The RCA Lyra RD2212 is a durable, compact media player that includes a decent size screen despite its size and despite its efforts towards sturdy construction.

The RCA Lyra RD2212 comes with some great features including a long life, 47 hour battery that gives a person a great deal of flexibility in regard to usage. The RCA Lyra RD2212 also has some fitness specific features that make it a very valuable device. These include a pulse meter and a calorie counter. The only real drawback to the RCA Lyra RD2212 is found in relation to its rubber coating. While rubber coating is a great addition as far as providing protection to the device itself, the manner in which the rubber coating is included on the RCA Lyra RD2212 makes it difficult to easily use the control features on the RCA Lyra RD2212.

On balance, however, the RCA Lyra RD2212 is ideally designed for a person who desires a more comprehensive media player for time spent involved in recreational activities. Indeed, the RCA Lyra RD2212 comes complete with a belt clip and a handy armband that make it even easier to use when a person is involved in exercise programs.

I wished I had read all of the reviews for this when I bought mine two years ago. It is worse than a piece of junk because I paid too much money for it and it is useless. The buttons are not easy to use, when I think I am turning it up, I have somehow skipped to the FM radio and cannot seem to get back, other times it seems to cycle through the same 5 songs for no apparent reason. I am still very bitter about spending so much money for a worthless piece of junk - not to... Read more

Every month, manufacturers unleash even more MP3 players to an increasingly confused public. Not only do these devices have wildly divergent features, but ongoing format wars mean the MP3 player you choose dictates where you can buy your digital music. These devices are anything but one-size-fits-all. First, there's the question of design. A player can have every feature in the world, but if the design doesn't match your lifestyle or if the interface is impenetrable, you... Read more
