So when you try to turn it on it goes to the Philips screen and then it turns off. It's not locked, the battery is new and the computer doesn't even know when it's plugged in. I have tried EVERYTHING on Philips site.I can't use the device manager to fix it either because it can't see it. Any advise?

Phxbunny here. I fixed it. Philips won't tell you how to fix it. It's actually easy. You have to have windows me, 2000 or xp. Plug it in, open the device manager, click hardware, view device drivers, look for the usb port with the error(it will be a yellow circle with an ! in it), right click that usb and uninstall the usb driver then reinstall the driver. Now you have to launch the device manager from philips for this mp3 player. Unplug the mp3 and plug it back in while holding down the back button, keep holding it down and click yes when it asks if you want to repair the mp3, you can let go when it's done. Now update you firmware and you should be fine. It worked perfectly for me and you won't find anyone else who can tell you anything other then to call philips. Good
