Summary: After being bored of using my cellphone, I decided to get this. It was on special. I don't regret the buy, but I will be a bit less hasty in purchasing an afforable MP3 player. Of course, now that every mp3 player is compared to the iphone or touch.. the standards are fairly high
Pros: Looks great very light durable sound quality is excellent has a speaker and sounds decent volume can about make you go deaf (that could be a con to some) holds many sound files
Cons: Only plays AVI (but I knew that before purchase) Button configuration is not laid out well, to say the least. It seems like and after thought. All the buttons are on the side so if it has been a while since you used it and you're in the dark, you will be button mashing for a bit. The response is ...
Summary: These can be seen as either pros or cons: The screen is biased, but that way you can increase/decrease the brightness without having to go into settings, just angle it slightly to the left or right. You can skip forward/backwards in a song/video and the player will reduce the volume slightly.
Pros: The controls are easy to learn and are a lot faster than most other controls I've used. You don't even need to see the player to turn the volume up/down, go to the next/previous song, play/pause. Turning it on and off is very simple, just switch the on/off to on and hold the play button to turn o...
Cons: The explorer does not alphabetize the folders (different from the medialib). The screen attracts fingerprints. I got a screen overlay to help with that. Some computers (so far it's only with Vista) the battery charge animation does not display, so I have to guess if it is charged or check by unpl...
Summary: Good concept, poor execution. good for the money though, i just don't think its worth the risk again, so im not going off brand anymore! San disk here i come!
Pros: Nice screen, light weight, built in speaker, 8 gigs, (plus expandable memory) good concept, but needs alot of work still
Cons: Speakers were blown out when i received them, the volume + button didn't work, the user interface is obscenely over complicated, the micro sd card feature needs alot of work and The over all feeling of it seems...flimsy.
Summary: You get what you pay for. If you want an aluminum case with touchscreen and/or multifunction buttons, you can have it but not for $55. This fits my need perfectly as I only use it on airplane travel.
Pros: This has a lot of features for the money. I paid $55 with free shipping and it is worth that for 8gb and color video. Plays AVIs well, photos are fine, music is good. It's NOT an ipod so the bells and whistles do not exist. Menu is easy once you learn the buttons.
Cons: The microSD slot can only take a 2gb card max. Wish the specifications would have stated this fact. I wanted to add 8gb for 16gb total. Maybe a firmware update by Nextar.....don't hold your breath as the web support is weak.
Summary: I use this in my car with an adapter I bought separately for 5 bucks. It works great if you know how to use it by heart and don't have to look at what your selecting. If you can get it for 50 bucks like I did, do it.
Pros: ~Cheap(mine was 50 bucks) ~Easy to use if you glance at the page that comes with ~Size(both amount of data held and mass) ~Built in Speaker ~easy to charge/battery life ~Built in radio ~SD(micro) slot is nice for extra spac
Cons: ~video looks weird when viewed horizontally, but it looks good vertically(but its sideways) ~A few minor bugs turning on ~No car adapter that I know of ~Seems fragile, tho I haven't tested it ;-)
Summary: the viewing angles of the screen are very interesting, it seems to me like this particular screen is designed to be viewed vertically rather than horizontally ( hold the player so the usb slot is at the top and you will see what I mean.
Pros: -lightweight and compact -very inexpensive(got it for $55). -mini speaker will probably come in handy at some point -easy to learn controls in my opinion -etc
Cons: -"included cd" was not in the box (not a big deal because I already have video converting software that is probably better anyway -viewing angles(see comments)
Summary: The Menu button has two functions depending on how long you hold it. The Directions say press briefly to select or play, press and hold to go up the menu tree. On the press-and-hold the menu-up does not occur until you release the button. So really it is a dit-dah method like Morse code.
Pros: PROS: Good sound, FM reception, at $55 is cheap for 8 gigs and what it can do. Good color and sharpness on video and photos
Cons: CONS: Cumbersome menu structure, tiny type, painful buttons, video converter is hard to use and limited in types it can handle.
Summary: If anyone knows the problem or perhaps my error please let me know....
Pros: Works great when......
Cons: Well i cant turn it on even after following instructions to a "T". I fully charged it before using, turned the switch to "On" then held the "Play" button down. It does not do anything.... However after i plug it into the computer through USB and unplug/eject I am able to use it (this only works i...
Summary: I paid $55 thanks to Newegg's special deals. This is TOTALLY wortht that price. Regularly, it woudl be $70 on newegg, which would be too much for me, but it's up to you. 8 GB is a lot of space. However, this is not worth more than that.
Pros: Huge capacity, especially for the price. Could be used to store random files as a flash drive. Plays mp3s without a hitch lots of equalizer options (even a custom EQ) plays .avi files great included CD to convert video is simple and easy, if a bit slow
Cons: the interface is clunky. no, seriously. I was going through the menus and for a while I had no idea how to go "back" through to a previous menu option. I later figured it out (to access the menu, press the "M" button once. then, to make a selection, highlight your choice with the FFW or REV butto...
