"First time buying a MP3 player"

Bytorsnowdog, CNET
8 March 2010
  • Pros: I like the Hard Drive storage capacity and controls are interesting using one finger motions.
  • Cons: I received my product defective. The Headphone jacks connection is intermittent. I have to slide the plug back/forth to hear sound. Dell rep in India stated they are tracking calls complaining about this and suggested I call Microsoft for resolution.

"Too early to say, but why only in the States?"

Kandoriasu, CNET
8 November 2009
  • Pros: Touch screen looks great with the vibrants colors. Music quality can't be any different from any other main stream player but I've heard the standard zune's quality and its not bad.
  • Cons: No DivX, Xvid, or MKV supported codec which is 3 of the most popular formats for playback. Only shipping in the states and no real chance for it to be shipped anywhere else anytime soon.

"Oversized Menu Text Geared For Seniors?"

zunedunes, CNET
27 September 2009
  • Pros: A much better version of Zune.
  • Cons: The main menu is senior-friendly, not for the college kid like me. The dimension is smaller than iPod and so is the screen (of course!!!).

"Lack of Support for Secure Nets Sinks Online Features"

fearboy, CNET
25 September 2009
  • Pros: The Zune HD is an extremely slick device. The screen in brilliant, the touch is accurate and responsive, and the interface is intuitive. As a media player I believe it is superior to the iPod Touch in almost every way.
  • Cons: As an Internet device the shortcomings of the Zune HD are unforgivable. Without Wi-Fi Internet due to a lack of support for secure network connections, I can not justify the upgrade from my brown, 30 GB, first generation Zune.
