Excerpt: The iRiver L Player is the successor to the iRiver clix, but it is a lot better. Starting with how the L Player looks, its very minimalist, just like the clix. The buttons are very well hidden which is actually a nice feature, it makes it appear sleeker.
Summary: I have owned 8 or so mp3 players, and have never found one as frustrating as this one. Half of the time, the computer won't recognize it. If you go onto IRiver's website to redownload the software, it says "No such product found". When you try to transfer songs as data files, they don't appear on the menu, though the player will show itself as full.
Summary: I had the first iriver clix and was very satisfied and happy about it, I saw one of these lplayer and was really happy that its like a little clix, so I tried it and looked pretty out of the box, but when I operated it, it is nothing like the iriver clix. its very slow and the way they sort the music is awful. I dunno what iriver was thinking.
Summary: I had the 4gig version of this player for about 3 months until I took it swimming, needless to say it did not survive. I really liked this player very portable, display was good, and a lot of nice features for the money. I mainly used it for pod-casts, but I did use the video, e-reader, recording and other features.
Summary: This is my second iriver mp3 player in this make and model. I actually looked for it online because I was so happy with the first one. It's easy to use. My only problem is I wish the battery life was a little longer. I take them to all day lectures, and one would only hold a little over half the day, so I needed the second one to finish the day. Other than that, I love this product.
Summary: For the price it is absolutely good. The only problem I had was that the software was incompatible with Windows 7 which means you gotta run it in Compatible Mode (XP,ME,Vista,98)....Also, the buttons are a bit non-responsive at times but in general the sound quality is awesome and is absolutely loud.
Summary: The most drawback is the compatibility of the video format. It declares the support of the wmv and avi files, but actually those iriver specific wmv and avi files are supported. And the PC needs to install the provided converting tool. Unfortunatly, this tool is not supported by my Windows 7. Also, the player itself has no capability to delete the undesired files. All the file management can only be performed via PC. The audio quality is good.
