The iRiver Lplayer supports playback of MP3, WMA, FLAC, ASF and Ogg Vorbis for audio files as well as XviD, WMV9, and MPEG-4 videos. Apart from these, the Lplayer displays still images in BMP, JPEG, PNG, and GIF as well as TXT files.
The iRiver has a stereo audio system with a signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) of 90dB and a response bandwidth of 20Hz to 20,000Hz. It supports SRS WOW HD sound effects and it is equipped with a digital equalizer that features 7 presets including Classic, Normal, Ubass, Jazz, Rock, Live, and Pop.
The player also has a built-in microphone for voice recording.
The Lplayer offers a Hi-Speed USB port and a 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack.
The iRiver Lplayer is powered by a built-in rechargeable Lithium polymer battery. When fully charged, the battery can last up to 12 hours of audio playback or 3.5 hours of video playback.
The player is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Vista operating systems.

I purchased the Lplayer to record music for an aunt residing in a nursing home. When it arrived it did not have any way to be recharged other than being connected to a computer. My aunt does not have access to a computer. I was told by the Iriver phone tech that there was not an external charger available, and to use any other brand else would void the warranty.
