iRiver MP3 Player

cwsa26, Ebay
1 August 2007
  • Summary: Good product for the price. Even though it's getting a bit dated this product still serves its purpose. A steady performer and worth the price if you are not looking for a lot of bells and whistles.

Convenient for recording but needs special software

davidrgoon, Ebay
29 March 2007
  • Summary: I use this unit to record backup audio, not as a playback unit. I bought the Giant Squid microphone and then mounted it on lapels and jackets to get a close up sound recording of the speaker. The Giant Squid mic is specially wired so that the iRiver will not record in stereo but mono. This doubles the record time. I've pinned this on grooms in a wedding and the pickup was perfect for not only him but the bride and the minister as well.

Great product and value

nuttydan, Ebay
6 July 2006
  • Summary: My wife and I both bought the 512MB versions then got these smaller ones for her sisters (birthdays). You will only fit about 55 songs on this size, and they do get old, but that is my only complaint. It is user friendly. Good software. Durrable. - have dropped mine several times Neat display. You really do get about 40 hrs batt life. Useful features - Record radio, alarm clock, equilizer..... Havn't tried other brands, but I really have no reason to. You'll love it!

Love the line-in feature

Paul Clifford, Amazon
9 June 2006
  • Summary: I bought this player because of it's ability to record audio either from a dynamic microphone or from a line-level signal. I wasn't disappointed. With the quality settings bumped up to a stereo, 44.1 khz & 128 kbps it produces a great recording that I use for my podcast, "Tech, No Babel" (do a search on google or iTunes for more information).
