Very badly designed, low volume

Douglas Schwartz, Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: The main problems of this player are: - If you want to read the screen, better be indoors, or if outside, in the shade holding it 2" from your face - To switch from music to radio literally takes 6-10 clicks, including a menu scroll - The maximum volume is quite low, and almost unusable with external battery-powered speakers like I have on my bike - There's no clip or holder to keep it in place - I still can't figure out how to do radio presets, and I had to Google the...

Waste of money

Carebare, Amazon
8 March 2014
  • Summary: It worked once, but has problems recharging. Tried various cords, wall charger, computer. It comes up with various errors. Lame cheap device with too many flaws, make it unusable. Too bad because it would be awesome if it actually worked.

Paid $30 for it at Kmart

S. Kitch "Wonder Woman", Amazon
17 February 2014
  • Summary: At first this little unit seemed just fine. I didn't have any trouble loading music. My daughter just wants to listen to her music and she liked this skinny little player. This is also the 2nd Eclipse mp3 player I've bought. The first one, the screen went corrupt and we couldn't see any of the folders to open them. It had no reset button. This rendered it useless, I thought it was a rare event.

Menu system doesn't work at all

libertyinmo "libertyinmo", Amazon
10 October 2013
  • Summary: We chose this player because another child has an older version of it. So, we figured even with the bad reviews, that it might just be people expecting too much for what they paid. That is not the case. The menu system is organized somewhat differently, but it is supposed to function in the same basic way. Unfortunately, whoever updated the menu system for this player did a lousy job. When you press the menu button, it is supposed to bring you back to the menu.

Basic features - awkard user interface

Robin K "Robin K", Amazon
3 September 2013
  • Summary: We got this MP3 player to be able to listen to our playlist in an older car with only an analog aux input. It works fine for that. Positives: The quality of the sound was fine. It was only $8 with a rebate so I gave it 2 stars for the low cost (otherwise 1 star). It was easy to copy mp3s from computer to player.

NOT A QUALITY PRODUCT BY ANY STRETCH

NetiNeti, Amazon
28 August 2013
  • Summary: DIFFICULT TO USE AND UNDERSTAND DIRECTIONS. FIRST PAGE ON THE DIRECTIONS SAY "CALL THIS NUMBER BEFORE YOU RETURN IT." (Why are they so sure I will want to return it?) (Because it is an inferior product, that's why). I CALLED THE NUMBER WITH LOTS OF QUESTIONS IN NEED OF IMMEDIATE HELP, AND GOT A BUSY SIGNAL -- TWICE! THEY ALSO ENCLOSED A EMAIL ADDRESS IF I HAVE PROBLEMS. WELL THEY MUST BE ANTICIPATING PEOPLE WILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS PLAYER. IT HOLDS NO BATTERY CHARGE.

Not very good

JD, Amazon
26 July 2013
  • Summary: This MP3 player is cheap for a reason, really not very good. Opt for a Sansa instead as they are inexpensive and much, much better. This unit does not produce good sound and has some of the worst controls I've ever seen (just adjusting the volume requires you to press the OK button until a volume icon appears and then use the skip forward/backward buttons to adjust volume).

luckily i still have some fireworks left

Lovetown, Amazon
13 July 2013
  • Summary: I only bought this because my beautiful Sansa finally died. That player lasted for years but I only had this one for a few hours before I couldn't take it anymore. This mp3 player flew on a rocket into the neighbors pool and really these things deserve a watery grave. The box doesn't warn you about the cheap design, and the Windows 95ish software that it uses, or even the incredibly slow response time to any commands.

fabian aguilar, Amazon
6 July 2013
  • Summary: this mp3 player is really great. When i turned it on there was already stuff on it but i deleted them when i plugged it to my computer. Then i put a lot of songs on there, then i started using it, it automatically sorts my music by artist and album. i have no problems with it at all. I will be buying more of this mp3 player brand later on.

Battery SUCKS and f.m. radio hardly works, mostly static.

Kindle Customer, Amazon
24 June 2013
  • Summary: I bought this Eclipse 4GB mp3 player from my local Radio Shack store. The first one I got wouldn't even fully charge so I exchanged for a new one. I listen to the radio mostly, and haven't even put any music on it. The battery only lasts for a few hours, if even that. The static when on F.M. radio is ridiculous. There is constant background chirping noise, but if you stand perfectly still, in THE RIGHT SPOT, it will work ok.
