Summary: The product arrived on time and was packaged well. Unfortunately, the product didn't boot up even after charging for hours. I'm retuning this back for some SONY. FYI, I own the first generation creative zen and it's been over 4 years now that I have it, to date it has had no problem. Period. It's the best music player ever.
Summary: I had a Zen mini for years that was great. This player was a huge disappointment. And the software is a complete mess. The registration "gentle reminder" was in an infinite loop, the solutions didn't work until I figured out to take creative out of the startup programs. That also helped with the other worse problem, a process that I found in task manager that was using 25% of my CPU even when the program wasn't running.
Summary: I was giving this Creative Zen Style 300 16gb as a present. I currently have a Walkman NW-s545 16gb. I have owned Creative zens before including the microphoto and the micro. They were nice players but have given up the ghost over the last year. I have purchased 2 Creative playdocks which were very good with their sound. Syncing up the Creative Zen Style with my music collection ( with windows media player 11) wiped out most of my music on my computer.
Summary: The best news is that this player DOES remember where you left off within the track when you shut down the player. It even remembers it after plugging the player into the computer. Because of this, and because of the "track once" play mode, for many people this player will be a good choice for audio books. Problems: --It has trouble deleting albums and tracks. It pretends to delete them, and then doesn't. Rebooting usually solves the problem.
Summary: With much anticipation, I purchased this product AFTER reading many reviews. It NEVER worked properly. Initially I could not even download the device onto my computer; I had to ask customer support (only through e-mail and not personal voice communication) for help!! Even then the device would not let me "transfer" my music. After several e-mail exchanges was I able to transfer about half of my music; which was only 500 or so songs.
Summary: This is one of the worst electronic products I own for two reasons. I had the old Creative Zen player and loved it. It was fast, stored thousands of songs, and was easy to use. I thought I would stick with Creative because I had a good experience with them. I read some of the mediocre reviews and still gave it a try. So, reason 1...I had to send the first player back because it did not create playlists.
Summary: I am seriously disappointed with this product. I'm a Mac user and bought it for my fiance after finding the new Ipod nano unsuitable. It looked good to start with, until I discovered none of their software will work on a Mac. Then, we couldn't get it to work on my fiance's PC. Annoying, but I could still drag and drop mp3s to it from my or her computer and it would play them, so I decided to limp along and not return the product. Big mistake.
Summary: Two weeks after I bought the Zen 300 Style, I am already having serious problems. The player functions but when I try to open a playlist, the "Please wait..." screen comes up, and freezes there for hours until I push the reset player. I emailed creative support (submitted a support request online) and they told me to update the firmware and let them know if it helps.
Summary: i bought this off of amazon because somebody had stole my iPod, i was looking for one and it seemed like a good buy because i had heard of creative labs before. i was a little worried that it looked to good to be true, and it is, this is the worst MP3 player that i have ever owned, i had tried uploading music onto it 4 time and it all never showed up, i tried uploading up to 4 songs at a time and it couldn't even handle that simple task and said it could not work.
Summary: I wasn't happy with my Zen Style from the start. Couldn't register, just wouldn't do it. Menu system is foolish. Music quality, just OK. I lost it. Now I continue to get a message to register, but I no longer have the Zen. My PC is locked up from bootup. The routine to register loops on the PC. It demands I plug in the Zen! Expensive PC now useless to me over a $60 Zen.My Task Manager will no longer open. Unistalled everything Creative, I could find. No luck.
