Superior product, sad they don't make it anymore

ninja crepes, Amazon
5 August 2010
  • Summary: I am prompted to write this because I've found the the iPod shuffle (3rd gen) to be such an grossly inferior product. In 2007, I'd put the Creative Zen Stone on my wishlist and received it as a Christmas gift-I was, needless to say, thrilled. The Creative Zen Stone was such a well designed, easy to use, intuitive to program little product it's a crying shame that it didn't enjoy more success.

  • Pros: Everything including price: $50. (unlike some competitive ones who has no screen, made of metal, and need special software to copy which went for $75)
  • Cons: A bit slow

NefDena, CNET

  • Pros: Small and compact - able to fit into any pocket.
  • Cons: Limited Warranty best describes this product. Purchased June 2008 and after reviewing this sites warranty, etc., its definitely the truth! My little convenient cute any pocket size MP3 player completely died on me 2 mon. early of expectancy.

Keep Looking

Butterscotch, Amazon
22 March 2009
  • Summary: I bought this for use in my car only, but it's not useful. I drive 1 hour to work and 1 hour back and it's dead by the time I get home. Downsides: the screen is too small to be useful, the item needs to be charged daily and for long periods of time, there is no battery-low indicator so the item just stops, very hard to turn on/off (must hold switch for a long time), has 'frozen' twice and needed to be reset.

Great for WMA audiobooks

J. Gray "a Mom with a long commute", Amazon
1 February 2009
  • Summary: I've had this for over a year now, and have gotten hours and hours and hours of use out of it. I use it only for audiobooks, as it plays the wma audiofiles that OverDrive Media uses - which is what my local library uses as their download provider for audiobooks. Listening to audiobooks has changed my commute from a chore to something enjoyable and relaxing. A few things: I do NOT have it display the date/time. This gives it a longer battery life.

Not as cute as picture

W. Long, Amazon
21 December 2008
  • Summary: The real thing is not that cute. The color looks much more dull. And I don't like the feeling of the buttons. I thought it comes with a clip, but it doesn't... and I still don't know how its speaker works... or I guess it doesn't has one.... I wish I've got the white one instead... or might as well get an iPod Shuffle...

Zen Stone is almost perfect

J from "over there", B&H Photo
3 November 2008
  • Summary: Excellent product especially the built in speakers. Small, tough, great storage capacity and outstanding sound quality. Wish I could use the radio feature, but unfortunately, limited stations over here. Look forward to using that feature when I get back. I get most of my use out of it when I'm traveling and working out. Love it.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Lots of Storage, Reliable Performance, Simple Controls

very portable but needs software upgrade

satisfied customer, B&H Photo
17 October 2008
  • Summary: i use this player mostly for exercise. it works great for this. the only thing wrong is with the software, it will not let you set up a playlist. it always puts the songs in alphabetical order no mater what order you set the file up in. the only other negative is that you cannot preview upcoming songs, but that is the price you pay for having a small portable player. i would recomend this to thos who want something small for workouts.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, External speaker is great, Sleek/Compact
  • Cons: Radio reception inferior, Software needs upgraded
