Although it sports a fairly high price, the combination of purpose, quality, durability, and other advantages make the MuVo TX worth considering. Because it has high performance in both of its major uses, this drive is for someone who wants as much ability to store and transfer files as to listen to music. For those who only want one of those abilities, consider purchasing a pure music player or flash drive to save money.
First, let’s look at the music player. Although it’s not of the same quality as the high-end pure music players, it’s still clear and clean. The only detractor from the sound aspect of this unit is the headset; the price tag warrants a better pair of head phones—no one wants to spend this kind of money on an MP3 player only throw them away and buy a higher quality pair separately. The MuVo also receives FM radio and can record voice. The AAA battery lasts about 10 hours, but if you remove the battery casing you have a flash drive that you can plug into your computer. Without spending a whole lot of money, you can have both the storage space and the music player.
One disadvantage to the MuVo is the small slide control. It is small and oversensitive, and difficult to control. The battery is also not rechargeable, and sound recordings are not that great. However, if you don’t need high quality recordings for lectures or classes, the MuVo should work fine for you. The ear buds can be uncomfortable as well, but many people already have headsets they like and can use them with the MuVo so it’s often not much of an issue.
