Summary: 0 stars voted best piece of garbage product ill would consider 2 before buying from cowon again it fell and shattered the screen, before it fell the software is awfull, and the touch screen never worked properly
Summary: After a few months the touchscreen is all messed up. Customer service basically doesn't exist. It was a cool mp3 player with a huge memory card, which is perfect for all the music I have, but mine just didn't last long at all. Not very satisfied.
Summary: I have nothing against Apple products but this is a perfect alternative to play flac and other lossless files other than m4a. UI isn't the best however after updating the firmware and installing an alternative UI it works better than expected. The touchscreen is old-school compared to iPod Touch and the lack of additional widgets or apps is disappointing but I've never had an mp3 player that has as good battery life as the X7.
Summary: If you want an MP3 player with a big capacity but don't want to be locked into the i-ecosystem what choice do you have? This one! And even that's a bit tricky now. I lost my 160Gb version so had to buy another one. The 120 GB version is still just available in the US so I bought a refurb from JetAudio. The battery life is phenomenal in normal use. I regularly get 15+ hours on the basis of an hour a day's usage.
Summary: Note: I purchased the black version of the X7 from Amazon. Out of the box, the X7 had decent battery life. While it really did feel like I was carrying around a brick, the sound quality more than made up for the awkward dimensions and hefty weight of this MP3 player. The sound quality was excellent. The key word there is "was." After 12-14 months, I grabbed the player out of my bag one day on the way home from work. No response from any button or the screen.
Summary: This gem of an MP3 Player is feature packed. Bluetooth enabled and radio tuner help seal the deal for me. The audio sounds great and it is touch enabled. I needed something for my large collection of 30,000 plus songs and this did it with room to spare.
Ultimately a waste (its a brick now), but great when it worked.

Summary: The cowon x7 was a great media player when it worked. It's bricked now, so $300+ down the toilet. If it had just kept working it would've been fine. The layout was a little funky, and the touchscreen isn't as good as the newer touch screens out there. It's kind of a pain to select songs/folders accurately. But as it worked, it was usable, and had awesome battery life.
Summary: I orignally wrote this review with ZERO SERVICE in the title. I can now happily amend that to SOME DIFFICULTY as I have gotten help from customer support and my unit is on its way to the repair dept. I've had the X-7 for a little over two years and for sound quality and capacity it has no equal.
