Summary: Battery life is great,.. Not quite as good as advertised but still good. Software provided seems to freeze up if you try to speed through player. Touchscreen seems to need a little work (fumbles a little), storage capability is great, search engine could use some tweaking so you can pick your subject without waiting for the search to finish.
Summary: The stock user interface is a bit wonky, but switching to a third party ui called Sense UI was quick and straightforward and since then the device has been fantastic. The sound quality is better than on any other device I have owned, even powering a pair of hungry Fostex T20RP mkII's. This is the first device that I can clearly and consistently hear the difference between FLAC and 320kps mp3 files. And the battery life is nothing short of ridiculously amazing.
Only good for storage, useless as an everyday player.

Summary: What a dissapointment ! Got 2 COWON J3 player and these are superb in soundquality and even pictures and movie clips. So, i went for a X7, can,t go wrong, i said, but it looks like all good things have been stripped of this 120 GB unit. Pictures, you have to load them in Landscape, there is now tilting as in Phones or cheap Tablets, it is a nuisance. Movie clips, plays some, it,s a matter of luck really.
Summary: After having several ipods and such i wanted to crank up my audio quality.
I heard many positive things about cowon and i wanted to give it a shot so on a most fortunate day i found a nice Cowon X7 120GB for 136.00 (+ shipping) on ebay .
I used to have a 32GB ipod touch and a Creative zen X-fi 32GB but they were not just the thing i was looking for.
The Cowon X7 has superb audio quality and with the versatile equalizer it sounds good with almost any headphone.
Pros: Precise Equalizer with many features, music plays for 110 hours straight on a full charge
Cons: Huge, heavy, proprietary usb cable, resistive screen
Excerpt: You can simply exchange audio files and videos between other blue tooth devices without much of a hassle. Overall, I believe it’s wonderful. You may believe that the price is a lot higher than others but when you look a little closer at the several features that it has I believe you’ll believe the price is fairly reasonable. I would highly recommend it to anyone that’s in the market to purchase one.
Summary: Like most previous reviewers on here I was looking for a non apple product with a large capacity & after some intense research I found the Cowon X7.
After getting past an initial cock up by myself I've found it to be excellent value for money.
The sound quality is much better than I expected even with all the reviews I read saying it was top notch.
It took some time to get used to the way the screen menus scroll, but I'm almost there with managing fine control.
Summary: I like the audio quality, the enormous number of equalizer presets, the 120 GB capacity and the battery life.
I dislike the touchscreen (it rarely selects what I press - and yes, I have calibrated it) and the lack of gapless playback (even for FLAC files there's an audible gap in about half the cases).
Summary: Great mp3 player. First of all anyone who purchases this mp3 player, select Non european country even if your are from europe. This will ensure the volume is not restricted, as EU law states the volume must be capped which can greatly affect playback when using certain headphones / speakers.
The mp3 player is straight forward and very easy to use.
Summary: I broke my ipod & didn't really want another apple product so came across the x7 on the net as wanted something with a large storage memory. So far so good with it as sound quality is amazing & dead easy to use.
Summary: My decision to buy the Cowon X7 was based on its large hdd capacity and more especially on its reputation for excellent sound quality. As far as the sound quality is concerned it certainly lives up to that reputation and I am amazed at the quality of reproduction from the Cowon in conjunction with my Ultimate Ears earphones. I can understand the negative reaction some people have when it comes to actually using this device.
