great sound quality

psolomoc3contact, Ebay
22 May 2011
  • Summary: this sounds amazing. astonishing, actially. The screen is small so if you have bad eyesight, you'll need glasses. It's good for people who want to be able to control the sound with equalization, base boost, 3D imaging and other fancy wizardry. So much control in a tiny unit like this. I was blown away, especially if you use shure se 535's with it. Stunning sound quality. Truly.

oscarsanchez, Ebay

  • Summary: I just installed the last firmware and it's working like a perfect piece of dedicated technology. This one is my third U2 from Cowon. I love this mp3 an other music format player.

**Review to ALL types of MP3s**

1337_ownage, Ebay
16 April 2008
  • Summary: Every month, manufacturers unleash even more MP3 players to an increasingly confused public. Not only do these devices have wildly divergent features, but ongoing format wars mean the MP3 player you choose dictates where you can buy your digital music. These devices are anything but one-size-fits-all. First, there's the question of design.

Small, Great Battery, Perfect Sound

Nathanael A. Eagle "Monadologist", Amazon
5 November 2006
  • Summary: I bought this for my wife to listen to on the metro because it's small, solidly constructed, and has fantastic sound quality. It's been a smash hit -- hard to argue with a product this solid at this price.

If it works, don't mess with it!

Dave, Amazon
29 September 2006
  • Summary: I bought this unit back in March. It has worked great. I decided to upgrade the firmware as the newer versions claimed to offer some "bug" fixes and benefits. This was a costly mistake. I consider myself pretty computer literate. Although part of the directions were a little bit vague it didn't sound complicated. There's really no reason for updates like this to be difficult. Well, either I did something wrong or the upgrade failed because I now have no music player.

Excellent product

Sav Extra "Big Prime User", Amazon
2 May 2006
  • Summary: I bought this one for my brother and he is loving it. I liked the EQ and Bass boost. The sound quality is fantastic, better than the creative or the sandisk that some of my friends have. Documentation is not that good but info is available easily. Nice product but a tad expensive I think.

Excellent Music Player

Steve M., Amazon
16 April 2006
  • Summary: PREFACE I originally bought this player because of the many formats it supports, such as OGG, MP3, WMA, WAV. Not many good players out there support Ogg Vorbis. Shortly after playing around with the player, I noticed the other features that work well. The FM radio, the voice recorder, the Navigation browser (to easily identify all 1GB of my music). It is also about the size of a pack of gum. When you put the "leather" case around it, about the size of a lighter.

Best bet for a 1GB player.

Stephen Hubchen, Amazon
5 April 2006
  • Summary: After a lot of research I settled on this player. I also considered the Ipod Nano, the new Sandisk e200 series, Creative Zen Micro, and quite a few others. Even though the U2 has been out there a while, it is still a great bet. First the bad - It will NOT play WMA secure format from the music subscription sites. If you like to download music from those site, the U2 won't cut it. Also, at only 1GB, it is a little short on memory by today's standards.

Great for a 1 GB player

gala, Amazon
21 March 2006
  • Summary: This thing is barely bigger than a large Bic lighter and as light (it's made of plastic, not metal). Sounds great (I bought Shure E2C in-ear earbuds for the noisy gym per another reviewer's good advice). Comes with a nice lanyard and attractive protective case, which I use since I bring the thing to the gym and it flops around a lot. Doesn't come with an armband, too bad.
