Complete waste of money and time. Fake warranty. Don't ever buy anything from Coby.
5 November 2013
Summary: The player stopped working. It would not connect to the PC anymore. There is nothing that can be done to make it work, short of returning it to Coby. Coby makes (almost) impossible to return it during warranty. First you must call Customer Support. The 800 number is disconnected and the toll number is always busy. Assuming you got through, which I couldn't, they want a money order (nothing else!, which may cost $10 to get) for $6 for the return shipment.
Summary: I got this for my sons 12th birthday. He loved it. But on the second day, the battery would not charge more than 1/2 charge no matter how long he charged it. Also, as soon as he played a song the battery would immediately go down to almost empty. I contacted Sonic Electronics for a return. They were very prompt in sending me an email on how to return. Great, but the rules for returning an item are so many, I think they hope you will just give up.
Summary: Utter piece of shit. Not only does it have a shortened warranty(as most tend to have a 6 month warranty and this has a 3 if I recall). After 5 months, it completely died. Not only did the battery life start to deplete at a highly unusual rate, but even people that listened to it that weren't me noted they had to turn the volume up more and more to keep it at average volume as the battery started getting low, because somehow the battery dying killed the volume as well.
Summary: Bought this on clearance to listen to in the car. The manual says you just plug it in and it will open up an autoplay window for you to install the software onto it. Except the autoplay window never popped up on any of the computers I tried. So this thing is literally a worthless brick.
Summary: Daughter bought this with her birthday money. It took a month to receive it and on top of that it does not work properly. She is SO very disappointed with this product. I would not recommend it.
Summary: I found the unit had good sound but the display and navicability was poor. I would recommend an MP3 that doesn't rely on a touch frame. The first one I got had to be replaced under warranty ($6.00 for handling). The new one lasted a few weeks and the display cracked after what I would consider normal use (I'm not a teenager). Don't worry, I recycle electronics responsibly.
Summary: I cannot give a review for this product because I never could get it to charge. I have many electronics so it wasn't that I didn't know how. It had a defective battery or something. However, the seller gave me full credit which I used to purchase a different brand of player.
Summary: I bought this for my daughter a year. She tried and tried but never got it going. The touchscreen is horrible. It has to be pushed 20 times before you get to the song. The music sounds pretty good though...hooked it up to my CD player in my truck sounded amazing.
