Summary: This is a great MP3 player. The best I have ever had. Lasts over a year, very durable, uses up very little battery and uses AAA which is great because you can get a AAA anywhere if your battery runs out.
but the electronic aspect was fine a day later after it had time to dry

Summary: There is not a shuffle option for this MP3 player and selecting songs can be a bit awkward at times. Sometimes you will need to toy with the volume option before they will play properly. I forgot about this little guy in my pocket one time and accidently put it through the wash. The AAA battery was rendered dead, but the electronic aspect was fine a day later after it had time to dry. Good construction overall.
Summary: One of the better small MP3 players. This uses a AAA battery instead of the internal lithium battery. The lithium batteries have a relatively short life and when they die the device is useless. I wouldn't buy any device that doesn't use replaceable batteries. The devices with replaceable batteries last many time longer that the others. COBY is one of 2 or 3 three small MP3 players that are of good quality and large capacity.
Summary: Easy to load audio files. Good sound. Unfortunately, after about six months, it gave up the ghost. I replaced it with a 4.3" android from Odd Lots for $39. With a micro SD slot, I've got not only hundreds of songs and audio books, but loads of ebooks too. I'll never go back to a straight MP3 player. Thank you, Coby.
Works but no radio and folder navigation is tricky

Summary: I accidentally purchased this model instead of the nearly identical Coby with an FM radio, bummer. But the two stars are because the folder navigation is very unintuitive and after reading the instructions you still can't avoid a bunch of button jamming. If you are using it as a shuffle that might be fine but folders/albums/audiobooks are tedious to access. I would have given it three stars if it had skipped including proprietary software. It is junk.
Summary: Chose this because of low price and high customer ratings. Very pleased so far. Just downloaded music today, from my iTunes files and from some other types of files on my new computer at work, and it was the easiest player I've ever used for downloading files. Just plugged it in and transferred files by dragging them onto the player's window... didn't try to use pre-loaded software on the player.
These Coby MP301 players are worth their weight in gold as long as you follow simple guidelines to protect them..

Summary: OK... I read where people beat up on some of these products because they can be easily broken but as far as the electronics go, these players will give you a long hard use service life if you take care of them. I use mine every day and I know all of the weak points and the strong points on these little buggers.
Summary: My 10 year old son wanted something to put some music on. I got him this, and it just works. You just load MP3's on it, and it scans the device and plays any MP3 it finds. It does have -optional- annoying software you can install, but unlike many other players, you don't have to install it on your computer to use this device. It just registers as a thumb drive, you copy your music over to it, disconnect it, and it will just work. Great product.
Basic player worth the price; would buy again. PRO: Simple to use and long battery life CON: No way to fasten to body/clothes.

Summary: Got this for my boyfriend to have at work but I like it. He says he doesn't have a single complaint about it, except maybe that it would turn up louder but he's so hard of hearing anyway that he always says that! It came with cheap-but-decent earphones (the kind you hang in your ears) and the cord is nice and long it reaches my pocket with slack to spare. Overall the player is a great value (I paid $17 shipped prime). It is nice in it's simplicity, and it does the job.
