  • Summary: This player lasted barely 6 months before it died. And throughout its short life, it was very sickly. The sound was fine -- good, in fact -- but the software just did not work. Most of the time, the button pushed did not provide the requested function.

  • Summary: In short, buy but beware, Archos customer service is the worst I've come across.
  • Pros: Good price for features. Pretty easy navagation.
  • Cons: Bought the 3gb version of this player last christmas (2005) and it was DOA (Merry Christmas to my son). Figured it happens returned to newegg w/out fail and received new one shortly there after (great Turn around time from newegg). 1 wk later the hard drive died. RMAed to Archos, received new dev...

DON'T BUY!!!

  • Summary: It's taken this many breaking for Archos to pay for shipping to get it replaced, and I actually wanted a refund. Do yourself a favor, skip this product in all it's forms.
  • Pros: Plays music...when not broken.
  • Cons: I've been through 4 of these (I own the blue one.) One was even the 4GBs. The 1st, 3rd, & 4th ones hard drives quit working. The 2nd one's battery quit recharging. 2 of these died within the first several minutes of use.

Update on dead product

  • Summary: On the bright side, the returned player does work flawlessly and my daughter enjoys her 6 weeks late birthday present.
  • Pros: It's still pretty and pink. Great for my daughter that loves pink.
  • Cons: DOA.........support is poor, complained to corporate about it and they were amazed! They fired the mean woman that called me a liar. They couldn't find my player, then magically did once corporate inquired. They said I may get my money back.........been two months and no dough.

  • Summary: New egg is taking care of this... that is why I buy from them. New Egg takes care of their customers. ARCHOS DOES NOT!!!

Terrible support

  • Pros: pretty and ping
  • Cons: player quit working on day 2 and support is non-existant from the manufacturer. Newegg has referred me to them and they will not respond. I've now contacted newegg service to get help. I'm sure things will be resolved now. Good old newegg to the rescue. I'll keep you posted.

  • Summary: New Egg fast delivery as always! Too bad this product can't hold up to your standards. <3 New Egg
  • Pros: Bought for my wife. It's very light and looks very 'cute' with the pink and all.
  • Cons: Hard drive stopped working within the first hour of use... Started ticking horribly. Called customer support for Archos and have been on hold for almost 3 hours before finally being helped. They said return it to NewEgg who says manufacturer only. I would buy a different brand. I am not impressed...

Bad harddrive
