Summary: Paid: $40 on ebay, used. I bought this to use as a player. At the price, it sure beats and iPod. Since there is no ability to stream, the video is somewhat outdated. Battery life: 4-hour trip -- no problem playing mp3's Features -- Every thing I want.
Summary: i cannot change or remove things on it with windows XP. it works better with windows 7. it stops communicating with PC when copying to it for more than 15-20 minutes. the archos AV500E is much better, even though it's a 30 GB drive.
Summary: This thing dose it all. If you like TV This will be a cherished wonder. This is an old model but the best working one of the whole Archos line. I have bought the whole line up of Archos devices. The sound is exactly in sync with the picture. The newer ones are not and the picture on the newer ones is...
Summary: Sturdy, dependable, a battery that seems to never quit, and crisp graphics. This is the best entertainment you could have for a long airplane or automobile trip! It is easier than juggling DVDs, and the screen size is a lot bigger than on my video ipod.
Summary: I have had the player in use for about a month now. It is easy to operate, loading music had some issues on a PC with Windows media player 8 but my winmp10 loaded in a snap. Loading DVD's onto the player was even easier. Just plug in to the player and hit record.
Summary: I've owned the Archos AV500 for like 2 months and it's a great device you can play mp3, avi, wmv, wma and others (also picture files) it has a decent storage the one i got is a 30 Gig and its great, specially if you use "CloneDVD Mobile" to compress it, it's very good i got like 43 minutes of video...
Summary: I love the size of it. The 4" screen is perfect for private viewing while keeping the size of the player relatively small. The picture is crystal clear during playback with the exception of some less quality cartoons. It is very is to record off of virtually any device.
