Summary: I really wanted this device to work because I was getting tired of using an Ipod touch but this device failed to deliver. The device does have a couple good points but I want to talk about all the bad features first. The single most annoying thing about the Archos 5 with Android is that the touch screen is not responsive. It takes a good amount of force to actually activate the screen.
Summary: This review is a little dated but I truly became disappointed in this product. This Arco worked great for about 30 days after that the screen kept freezing. It stop recording my shows and I just gave up on this product. A friend of mines has the 7 inch and his works fine. I also know of others who own an Arco and theirs as well work good. The size would had been perfect to travel with if the Arco would had worked.
Summary: This product was the biggest blunder I made as choice of computer products in my entire life. The first Archos 5 lasted just over 2 months with a troubled life path of failures and reformatting. The second who was replaced under warranty, it lasted less than a week. Had a kind of heart attack. Died. He left for another galaxy. Since I have no patience or money to be a guinea pig for this type of product, I absolutely not recommend.
Summary: It won't play Youtube because shortly after it was released, Youtube switched to a different format that the Archos company didn't plan on updating their operating system or firmware to be able to handle. Hardly any video works on it and the Apps often timeout/close for no reason. It's bad at multitasking, battery life doesn't seem very good, etc.
Products and customer service are very poor. Not worth the savings

Summary: Ive owned about 5 archos. A few due to returning to amazon who is awesome for returns by the way.. However after Amazons return policy expires you are on your own. Archos is not only tricky when it comes to repairs within their warranty. They are sneaky! It can take months to get something repaired.. Yes! Archos are very sensitive as many reviews have pointed out. Even just shaking one can mess it up. Let along fall 10 inches off your couch onto the soft carpet.
Summary: Worst product I have ever bought. I can't figure out how to update it so the apps will work. I haven't found a way to download apps because there is no easy way to update this product. The support for this product sucks. There is even 1 website where you may find help and they wanted me to pay $15. SUUUUUUCKS!!!!!!
Summary: I have purchased 4 Archos products. I have the Archos tv, the 605 Wifi 4GB, the Archos 5 Internet Tablet and the 605 Wifi 80 GB. They are nothing but expensive junk. Don't waste your money as I did. The first that I bought didn't have enough space so I bought the 80 G model. It died after 1 year. I upgraded to the internet tablet as I didn't want to have to pay for each and every thing that was available through Archos.
Good bones but no manufacturer support, no free ad ons as promised.

Summary: Frustrating! The unit appears to work fine but customer support from Archos is non-existent! Archos has stopped supporting this product, it is not possible to register through the Archos unit and receive the "free" add-ons promised - they are no longer available. You can register through their internet site on a separate computer, but they still do not update or provide support. I was put on customer support hold twice for 30 min each time by Archos customer service.
