Summary: New out of the box this could not be found on my computer as an added drive component as it's supposed to be. This is common because the right "drives" are missing and they give you lots of ways to fix that. But in this case, unplugged, the Archos said it had no "FAT32 file protocol," or some such.
Summary: I bought my Archos on 3/24/04 from Amazon bc I was attracted by the price and the rebate offer at that time. However, my problems started when I got it. First off it was quite heavy and broad, not very portable IMO.
Summary: This would be an item I would own if it would work as advertized. Worked fine for 3 hours and then just decided it not to boot up anymore! It actaully stayed on for another hour as it would not even accept a power cycle. Also I am worried that there are so many inconsistencies in the packaging.
Summary: Ordered the first Archos jukebox recorder beginning of Feb 2004. It came with the Orange V2 sticker and a nice sealed box. I Attempted to charge it, yet after 14 hours it failed to complete the charge, and failed to turn on. Per Archos tech support it was defective.
Summary: If your plans are to sit in a lounge chair and listen to MP3's then this is the item for you. If you plan to do any type of physical activity that might cause the Jukebox to be less than stable, then you want to consider anything but this.

Summary: My son received this MP3 player for Christmas last year. Within 6 weeks the hard drive had completely crashed and you couldn't even turn the unit on. The Archos customer service department does not have an 800 number.
