The move to a metal rather than enamel faceplate finally rids it of its age-old susceptibility to severe scratching. If only this would adopt the 16:10 screen and touch-sensitive interface of the iPod and iPhone, and then, format support and resolution aside, it'd have been the clear class leader. It wins on capacity and interface, but for video watchability it's dragging its heels. Read more

iPod classic - review [updated October 10, 2007]
Reviewer: applelinks.com10 October 2007- Overall 8

Even worse, the TV Out feature doesn't work on any third party dock or cable that doesn't have an Apple Authentication Chip. What does this mean? The details can be found here , but the gist of it is that you'll no longer be able to watch iPod video on your TV with most third-party devices. So, if you've spent $150 on a DLO HomeDock Deluxe II , for example, too bad. Loser is you. There are some theories that this is a software issue that Apple will eventually fix, but... Read more

When it originally shipped, the iPod classic was dogged by performance issues related to its new interface. iPod Software Update 1.0.1 addressed the spotty performance -- although at the cost of battery life for audio playtime -- prompting us to re-evaluate the 80GB and 160GB classic. Read more

The globally popular Apple iPod video has been updated with a new face, a new interface, higher storage capacity and even a new name. It's now called the iPod classic, which may sound like a name that would be given to a low end model, but this isn't the case with the new iPod classic. This classic may not be tiny like the new "fatty" nano , or have a touch screen like the new iPod touch. But neither of those devices are available in capacities of 80 or 160GB, ena... Read more

Amazing

I don't understand what people are saying about the slow menus, they are much quicker than the older classics. In fact, they're almost instant. Music copies extremely quick, battery lasts 10-14 hours easy with the brightness at the lowest setting (it should always be unless you are using it as a flashlight :P). Furthermore, I still have my older classic 30GB from almost 2 years ago running solid and strong with no problems. iPod classics are solid, they can even take ... Read more

SEGA, Thank You For Making This And For The Good Times
Reviewer: maegd25, Ebay2 weeks agoSega Game Gear was the best thing to happen to me when it was initially released. I got it Brand New without a game, and Mortal Kombat(Brand New)separately for Christmas in '93. The Game Gear has great sound, great color, and a nice selection of games. My game library was small at that time. I only got games here and there. Pyschic World, Mortal Kombat 2, and X-Men were added shortly. I got Sonic Triple Trouble(Brand New) for Christmas in '94. That was my favorite gam... Read more

iPod recommendations
...but I'm not sure which one would suit me best. Being realistic, the iPod 80gb classic seems the sensible option - Has a ton of memory and is only £20 more than a 8gb iPod Nano. However, the new Nano has the aesthetics and size which I will probably like. Apple iPod classic 80gb or New iPod Nano 8gb The classic defiantly seems the better value for money, though...
