Summary: I've had a much loved 30G iPod for over 5 years. When it ran out of room, I immediately bought the 160 and was so looking forward to finally having a place for all my music. From the first sync, the drive on this iPod squeaked and squealed as if it were in pain. Each time you switched to another song or another playlist or album, it made so much noise about 12 or 15 seconds into the new song, it could be heard across the room.
Summary: I was running out of space on my old but still working iPod. Should I wait for an new model...I decided not onas all new models will have a different attachment slot and I have too many portable audio electronics with the current slots... So buying now was important. Awesome product, the screen is a lot better! Otherwise, pretty much the same menu. Just love it for what I want, my portable music library! Remain a fan of the iPod classic.
Summary: O.K...so I am not just all that in the computer savvy world. However, after a little reading, and playing, I discovered how to get music to go onto the ipod classic from my computer. The problem is, HOW do I get the music off the ipod once it is on there???? There are no directions for doing this, and all articles I am reading online say Apple has it rigged where you can't remove the music once it is placed onto the ipod classic. What? That's my music, not theres!
Summary: If are like me and have a lot of music and you want to have access to it all the time, this is what you need. I am using it essentially as a hard drive for my car's audio system and the capacity and integration with my head unit are the reasons I bought it and it works as needed.
Summary: Considerably bigger and heavier than the nano BUT an immense amount of storage (I don't know if I will ever use it all !!) and better sound quality. The downsides : the "shuffle" facility is not available with each selection and there is no radio. Otherwise, still a great creation.
Summary: I've never really been an Apple person. I have only used PC's and this is only iPod #2. iPod #1 is my 32GB iPod Touch (1st Generation), which I still use on a daily basis. If Apple has been credited with anything on these iPods, it's their reliability. At least for me, anyways. I bought this iPod from here last year in May or so and it took Amazon WEEKS to ship the thing out!
Summary: I really like my new iPod Classic. I bought it to replace my old one, which simply wore out from long, hard use. I loved that old one (I hope that it went to iPod heaven!), but I like this new one even better. Apple has made the charging time much faster, now, eliminating my only complaint about the old one. If you are contemplating buying one of these iPods, I say: Go for it!
