Ipod is for those who have damaged their hearing
22 September 2009
Summary: I was so excited to get my iPod. I've only owned one other mp3 player (Philips GoGear) and wanted to try the famous iPod. There's a lot of memory packed into a small attractive case, its very easy to browse your music libary, and add new music from the computer.
Summary: Although its capabilities are awesome, my particular Pod came defective. It does not turn off or on easily. You have to press hard to either turn your music selection or or off. Dispite three attempts to return it or have it serviced for free, I have received no response.
Summary: You'll find much of what's always been great about the ipod classic here - lots of storage and an intuitive interface with crisp onscreen graphics. You'll also get some annoying problems, no extra charge. For example, spontaneous restarts.
Summary: Got this item on line and while it worked flawlessly for 6 weeks the thing now pauses for no reason (my old ipod did this too prompting me to replace it). Yes it's still under warranty and I suppose they would look at it but the trouble is the problem is intermittent and getting it fixed may be...
Avoid - randomly pauses in the middle of songs - no solution from Apple

Summary: The subject summarizes it. We'll be grooving to a song, when all of a sudden the music stops for 2 to 10 seconds. It's very random - it can go 5 straight hours without pausing and then do it on 3 songs in a row. Replay the songs that it skips on, and it works fine.
Summary: Unlike previous models, the classic now requires an Apple cable and Universal Dock in order to play video. Previously all you needed was a standard AV out cable but they changed the software so it will just displays a "please connect video accessory" message when trying to play video.
Summary: I earlier had a ipod 4g Mini marketed by HP. Which exactly got frozen at the end of the warranty period. and had no ways to get it serviced.Latter i got a 5G ipod. 30 Gb which was excellent. Now i got a 160 Gb 6G ipod classic 5 months back. This ipod totally SUCKS.
Summary: As of firware revision 1.1.1, the 160GB iPod classic pauses randomly. It could be twice in five minutes or it could be once in four hours. It's very random and very annoying. My music was ripped using a secure ripper and I don't get these gaps when I play the music through iTunes.
Summary: Do not buy the iPod Classic!! While this iPod offers the basic benefits of the iPod family, Apple has made one, Microsoft-worthy, change. The only component cables that will work (especially the video/AV/component cables) are the $50 (or more) Apple brand cables.
Summary: I will go straight to the details as to why this unit sucks: The software called iTunes will frequently duplicate songs and waste space. The unit itself is prone to not being recognized by Windows XP, so there is frequently no sync available, so...
