Terrible for Audiobooks!!!
17 December 2012
Summary: I bought this as a gift for my husband specifically because of the huge storage capacity for the audiobooks he loves. The problem is that Apple can't seem to release a decent software package for iPod Classic that will support sorting audiobook files by book, then chapter/alphabetical (like the...
Summary: This is a refurbished model sent to me in better physical condition than I expected but is totally worthless inside. The disk was not formatted before being sent to me and was a huge waste of my time.
Summary: Seven hundred dollars for an iPod? This seller should be banned from Amazon for being a criminal, and anyone who actualy PAID $700 for this iPod should have their credit cards taken away until they learn not to be stupid.
Summary: My strong advice is not to buy this product or any other ipod classic. I've had mine for 11 months and it suddenly developed a problem synchronising with itunes - their latest update. Research indicates this is a widespread problem which apple refuses to acknowledge.
Summary: This purchase was a replacement of one exactly like it a month earlier that had begun just turning itself off in the middle of listening to a song. AMAZON was GREAT about allowing us to return the first, and we were so excited to so quickly receive this replacement.
Summary: Well, I bought two of these. No, don't ask me why. Please just believe that I purchased two new 7th generation iPods - against the advice of the reviewer who obviously did some homework as to why the old units sound better, I might add.

This means that if you've previously purchased an ipod, and the overpriced apple dock connector, it will be apple's pleasure to force you to buy their...
Avoid the downgraded 6th Gen 'classic' - get the 5.5 Gen
Bryan E. Manuel, Amazon
9 September 2008
Summary: The 6th Generation iPod "classic" is a disaster - what a flawed and serious downgrade. First, if you enjoy music quality then stay away from the classic. Apple replaced the high-end Wolfson DAC chip with a very low quality digital/analog chip.
Summary: Be careful. I returned three of the silver 160 GB iPod classics to the Apple store for the same apparent defect. All three of the iPods I took home seized up when I began to put large amounts of music on it. The problem happened when I hit about 10 GB of music.
What's the point of upgrading to an inferior version?
30 July 2008
Summary: I purchased the 160GB version as an upgrade to my 5th generation Ipod Video with 60Gb of storage. Sounded reasonable at the time. I purchased a $340 Harman Kardon Go & Play to use as not only a sound system, but to use in the classroom when showing videos I purchased from Itunes and other...
