Adding colour to the iPod does make it an even better product to use, for music as well as photos. But while being able to carry round a slideshow in your pocket is great, the 60GB unit loses points for its chunky chassis. I’d recommend hanging on for the next generation, which hopefully will deliver a svelter, more capacious and longer lasting iPod photo. I got my boyfriend a refurbished iPod for christmas and when I got it, inside was all the necessary stuff, including instructions for first time use. I haven't given it to him yet, and unfortunately since the warranty is 30 days from day of purchase, I have to give it to him right away to make sure it stays working. After I fully charged it, I put a few songs on there and it wasn't a problem. Read more
I upgraded from 15gb 3rd Gen. before leaving for a trip to Europe. Purchased Apple camera connector to transfer the 1800 photos to the iPod. The screen now support color which comes in handy for viewing photos. Although the screen is small, it is adequate for casual viewing. For slide shows I would recommend using the S-Video output from the dock option.I would recommend some kind carrying case because the case does scratch easily and can be slippery when held. Read more

Apple seems to get better and better. This iPod is great. With a massive 40GB of built in memory, it ensures you have more than enough space for your music and photos.
