Summary: When you approach the hard drive capacity, the menus are very prone to locking up. I sometimes had to wait a good 30 seconds for the iPod to snap out of it and function again.
Pros: This is the highest capacity MP3 player followed by the Zune which has a 120GB limit. The battery life is great while listening to music. The thing just doesn't seem to die. I dislike iTunes but the iPod is compatible with MediaMonkey, my preferred media player.
Cons: My unit died just four days after the warranty ran out. (Lucky me) The hard drive became corrupted beyond repair and it will cost me around $110 for a new hard drive which I will have to replace myself.
Summary: I had the 8gig IPod Touch prior to purchasing the iPod classic and upgraded only because I ran out of space on my touch. I only went with the classic as it offered much more gig space for about the same money as much less space as that of the middle size touch. Also, the salesman at the Best Buy store was misleading as he told me I would be able to download from ITunes without connecting to my computer just as I downloaded from my Touch which was very much untrue.
Pros: More value for the money as it is 160gig and holds much more music than the IPod Touch for the comparable price.
Cons: Inability to download directly from iTunes to the device without a computer connection.
Summary: Apple's ipod classic has a very high degree of craftsmanship and quality. But this is not enough to maintain its leverage. It does not play other files other than AIF files. Apple has more than 2 generations of this product but it still is a closed system.Apple's obsession with closed proprietary products is beginning to take its toll on the company.
Apple iPod classic 160 GB: Classic Apple - shiny gadget - buy all the accessories or it ...
6 May 2012
Summary: I have had my Apple 160GB ipod classic or ipod video for over 4 years now and it has served me well! I have the black version, but it also comes in silver (which my partner has). With 160GB of storage this gadget can store your music, photographs and even videos which can be played back with headphones or you can hook the device up to loudspeakers to play back your music. According to Apple 160GB will store 40,000 songs, 200 hours of video or 25,000 photos.
Pros: 160GB the biggest storage mp3 player on the market, shiny gadget, good battery life, quality screen
Cons: scratches/tarnishes too easily, battery not replaceable
Apple iPod classic 160 GB: Not without its problems
9 March 2012
Summary: Although it's fairly expensive compared with other mp3 players, this iPod has a fantastic amount of memory space. I feel assured that I won't run out, even if I were to put all the music I own onto it. This was the main feature that convinced me to purchase it. It also has a classic and sleek design, although it's fairly large which, while not a problem for me, could be inconvenient at points.
Summary: I have owned iPods since the original iPod mini. I have to give credit where credit is due, the iPod is a pretty, ergonomic digital music player. Most people already know what they are, so I won't describe it too much. The biggest advantage of the iPod classic is the large capacity. No other digital player from the mainstream companies offers an hard drive with this large a capacity. Others exist, but from small companies and hard to find.
Summary: nice item but one problem you need itunes to sync your music the itunes site is very bad not as good as music media player it has very little artwork for the cds you rip on to it & the genral lay out is bad as for the ipod it is very sleek with lots of space.
