Summary: Let me start by admitting this is my 4th iPod, and I didn't have any problems with the previous 3 except the simple truth my media files exceeded my storage capacity, so...160GB seemed like a plausible solution. I still own the previous gen (5.5) 80GB iPod video and it works perfectly fine. This 160GB Classic is a nightmare and Apple's lack of product support is shear lunacy.
Summary: I got this iPod because I have A LOT of CD's and wanted to convert my collection to digital so I could have all my music in one place. You can't beat this thing for space as nothing else on the market even compares. Unfortunately, there is no drag and drop and everything has to go through the ultra slow and increasingly user-UNfriendly iTunes... As a perfectionist, I spent months updating all of the album artwork and making the file names pretty to display on my iPod.
Summary: I got my ipod 80 g Classic 4 years ago. I also got the Harmon Kardon sound machine with built in dock for the ipod. After spending countless hours on the phone with Apple Support, they tell you to check everything on your PC and then reload all the software etc, they wanted me to send in the device. I did and a few weeks later another arrives. I did this on four separate occasions over the past foir years both in and out of warranty.
Summary: I hate Apple. I don't know why, I just do. I have for as long as I can remember. Much like AMD and Chrysler. I have put off buying a digital audio device and have been using my portable CD player for.... many years. I have been getting laughed at for this, so I decided to join the masses. And now I know why I was so hesitant!!!
