Summary: I bought this to view sd cards from my Bushnell game cameras. was told by Cinepal customer service, this unit does not support the Bushnell software and I could not view my trail camera pics. Returned for refund.
Summary: Thought this product was a good one, but few months after buying it, the screen blanked out and I contact cinepal who said I had to pay for it to be delivered ti them. I didnt want to go through the trouble since I dont live in the states so it ended up in my garbage. I will not purchase another one. When it was working it showed very clear, the pic was great. Heaven only knows what went wrong because it was not dropped or anything like that.
Summary: I originally bought this for my daughter to have when we go on long plane rides overseas. We used it on a transatlantic flight that was about 8 1/2 hours and in between flights. Pros: The battery lasted a relatively long time without having to charge it. Overall, I'd say it stayed playing for about 6 to 6 1/2 hours. My daughter was watching episodes of the Magic School Bus, and I love that it can be set to automatically play episodes back to back.
Summary: I purchased the black model Cinapal (8.9" screen) and I wanted another unit. However, the white case Cinepal was advertised as an upgrade model and I purchased it. But after about 6 months of use the charging time decreased to about 20 minutes and the playback time was reduced to about 15 minutes and continues to decrease (ready for trash now). I went online to purchase another black case until but in every turn it was either out of stock or discotinued.
Summary: This product served it's purpose. But for $90 (I never did receive my mail in rebate for $20) it should last longer than one year. It had good video quality and played every single video format I threw at it. One odd thing though was the headphone jack only worked with the ear buds it came with. All others you had to hold the 3.5mm pin at a goofy angle to get them to work. Don't buy.
Summary: I bought this for my daughter who is about 16mos. Loaded it up with whatever she's into at the moment and hit play. It's saved me from many screaming car rides, where it's the only place that it's used. I tried a couple movies for myself when I first got it, MP4 and AVI, no issues with either. I saw a slight stutter here and there with a 1080 copy of transformers, no big deal.
Pros: -Small/light -Cheap -Durable -Takes SD cards -Plays many different formats
Cons: -What happens when the battery starts to go? -Software menu is lag-ish -only charges with wall outlet plug (no USB charging????)
Summary: The vedio player Cinepal Personal Media Player 8IN HD 720P Videos Photos MP3 was advertised as having an 8" screen but it was smaller than the Alutic (the black model) that I purchased a year ago and its screen is 9.5". Also, the online instructions indicated that the unit came with a remote contro, however, when I inquired about it I was told that it did not come with a remote. I had to use the one that came with the black unit.
