Summary: Junk DO NOT BUY, received from Amazon in two days with superb service however the Sidewinder 2 is junk, can't install apps on it or even get it to update firmware auto or manually, extremely difficult to setup, bought it as a Christmas gift and instead sending it back.
Summary: I have both Sidewinder and Sidewinder 2 both work very well, I would say Sidewinder 2 is definitely full of welcome improvements. The interface is much better then older version but like any group-ware product there are still some minor bugs, but all-in all its a great product for the price and performs a expected. I use Network drive and have USB drives hanging off them for extra storage.
Summary: I've bought this product as it was released to the market. I had high expectation after reading the spec. I was highly disappointed. * The streamer should be able to surf the web. This function is useless. most of the sites have compatibility problems and I practically could not surf any site. In addition, the provided remote makes it a real challenge how to tab between values etc. There is no way you can surf prior to reading the manual. Regarding the manual.
Summary: I couldn't care less from all the "nice" features they claim to have, like web, android, bla bla. I only wanted to have another device to which I can backup my homepc movies/pictures and see 720/1080 movies. The second part is ok, as it was in the previous versions (sidewinder 1), but what I can't understand is why did they have to write "GIGABIT INTERFACE" all over their specs while in reality the throughput is like a poor FAST interface: 5mb/s MAX(!!!
Summary: All that they promise and so much they just can't deliver. Thought this would be a perfect companion to my new 32" Vizio but it is almost completely useless. If they actually HAD any customer support, it would be terrible, but you won't get a reply. Won't play flash videos like they claim (won't even load them). They say it has a dvd backup feature but don't give any details at all about HOW! The web browser is clumsy at best (when it actually works).
Not techical? Need Costumer Support? Need coherent directions? If you answer 'Yes' to any of these then DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Summary: Wow, where do I begin.... So I got this as a gift but its been nothing but a curse. I plugged all wires into the correct spot, I hooked it up to my external USB drive (btw, it does not come with an HDD...WTF?) and hooked it up via my HDMI cord (no cord as well!) to the HD side of my TV. I install the software in the side and turn on the TV...all I see is this stupid "Xtreamer Media Player logo" and nothing loads. I can't go the menu. Nothing, just this logo.
Summary: OK Let me start off by saying that i currently own this and the Xtreamer 1. THe Xtreamer 1 had issues playing 1080p mkv files and did not play any HD audio. It would always lockup during playback. I use the Xtreamer 1 now for regular dvd rips with mp3 audio which works flawlessly even on wireless transmission. The Sidewinder II is a step up and more.
PGUP/PGDN can NOT move next/previous DVD Chapter...

Summary: CONS: the PGUP and PGDN button can NOT move next/previous chapter when playing a DVD (Video_TS or ISO) file. Xtreamer Tech Support says its Realtek Chipset does not provide the function, not thing Xtreamer can do. Tech support points out a work around: the "goto" button - which will need 5 or 6 presses on 3 or 4 differrent keys!!! If you have a collection of DVDs on the hard drive and need DVD Navigation Function: Do not purchase Xtreamer SW2, it won't work.
