Xtreamer Prodigy Black 3D Media Player & Streamer Review
3 March 2014
Conclusion: Up until roughly 6 months ago i admit that i didn't have best opinion in the world about Xtreamer mainly because i really thought they were just another OEM manufacturer (the limited reviews online also supported that) producing mediocre products at best. Today i feel almost the same way i did when i first received and reviewed a hardware media player by A.C.Ryan quite a few years ago (who knows they just might pull through from their current situation).
Pros: - Build Quality (Excluding A Small Mark On The Enclosure), - Design, - Picture/Audio Quality, - USB 3.0 Host Port, - Built In Wi-Fi, - Android OS, - Dual DVB-T MPEG4 Tuner, - 3.5" Drive Tray, - Card Reader
Summary: People get a Smart TV because they want to sit back and relax while accessing content from the internet and from other sources. The idea presented by the Xtreamer Prodigy is firm, but it won’t seem to be a relaxing experience once you’re using it.
Excerpt: The Xtreamer Prodigy ($210) is powerful media streamer for digital geeks who prefer that their media libraries remain unsullied by the software whims of Apple or Microsoft. Packed with a 750Mhz CPU, USB 3.0, integrated 802.11n Wifi, a 3.5 inch hard drive bay capable of supporting up to 3TB, and even HDMI 1.4 to handle 3D content – it’s got everything you’d want from a home theater PC for about half the cost.
