Good for DLNA servers, not for reading off of big hard drives

Summary: Ive had good luck with WDtv players in the past, and love my WDTV Live because its much faster at almost everything, but I wanted to try this and see if it would suffice for netflix, movies off a hard drive, and streaming from a dlna server. This product streams pretty well from netflix, its a bit slow at scrolling through titles but it works. Works perfectly using a DLNA server like servio. My biggest gripe was using this with a hard drive.
Summary: it works great but menu is very slow, pros-plays many media files, but does not play DTS encoded files cons-very slow menu, slow to access network, and slowest at recognizing external hardrives through usb. newer models of media streamers are out there. $ony and $am$ung have media streamers that include Blu-ray DVD play back... something worth looking into.
Summary: We got this as a gift for my mother. We've had the much older (non-wireless) model of this for 6+ years and have never had any problems. We've loved it! This one, however, has been glitchy and had problems since day one. At first we thought it was user error since my mother had never used something like this before, but as time went on, we realized either this is a crappy product or we got a lemon. Half the time it refuses to turn on.
Summary: Instructions were less then basic. I have a better understanding of these devices, yet still have a hard time getting this thing to work. I don`t know any good about this device because I still can`t get it working. Don`t have experts write instructions that dummies have to follow. Look at you one little sheet and you will see why so many people don`t like this device. It may be a excellent product if people get SIMPLE instructions on how to instal it.
Summary: This player will only play a limited amount of media VIDEO: If you see the media that it plays you also have to look at the audio it does not play. It will play the video but you will have NO SOUND The video and audio have to both be playable with this player. The update (firmware) did nothing said it was already up to date. So you will need to check all your media files and make sure both are supported.
