Works great!

Dorothy L., Amazon
2 June 2014
  • Summary: I enjoy plugging in my external hard drive. I can play videos directly from my external hd so that I can watch it on the large screen tv instead of my small laptop monitor.

Great little device!

CAW, Amazon
7 January 2013
  • Summary: Ended up with 2 of these, bought them for the kids rooms and they worked nonstop until I upgraded them to a network version of the WDTV. They never turned them off and they kept going. I ended up selling them to coworkers after I now longer had a need for them and they are still working! Great device!

External Drive Movies

Eugene, Amazon
30 August 2011
  • Summary: I saw this when a soldier brought it in. Simply plug an external USB hard disk into it, connect it to your TV and watch the movies from your drive. There is a menu structure from the remote control to select the film you want. Works like having a movie server in your house. I am impressed.

Better than Building a media server

Robert Miller, Amazon
2 November 2010
  • Summary: I have converted my favorite DVDs to avi or iso files and put them on my 1TB portable hard drive, so instead of having to go search thru hundreds of actual DVDs I simply connected the portable hard drive to this device, hooked it to my big screen and with its remote I just pick the movie I want and press play, I sorted the movies by genre and it just looks like a file system on your computer, and to think I was going to build a high dollar media computer to do what this...

Burning movies or TV shows on discs? Save that drama. I got my WD TV Mini!

CHeeZyWeeZy, Amazon
1 November 2010
  • Summary: I'm really loving my WD TV mini! No more waiting for my files to get encoded then burnt to a DVD. Now i can just drag my files to my external hard drive or my flash drive, then i plug it into my WD TV Media Player, and now i'm watching my movies and TV shows on my flat screen! It's so easy to use, my 10 year old daughter has been working that remote it came with since the day it came to my door.

Works great. Have no problems using the media player

Jason C. Wong, Amazon
30 April 2010
  • Summary: The product worked out fantastic! My parents do not speak or understand english but the remote was really easy for them to use and the video was easy to access. Only issue I had with it was that it was a little confusing plugging in the cords. The composite cable and AV cables both have to be plugged into my TV to get sound instead of just plugging in the Composite cables. Maybe I didn't understand it but instructions didn't say anything about plugging both in.
